What are Agent Skills on Skillry and how do they work?

Updated

Skillry is a curated library of Agent Skills — reusable SKILL.md workflows you install into a supported AI agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and others) so the agent can run a specific creative task end to end. You browse by what you want to create (Web, Image, Slides, Video), install a skill, and the agent executes that workflow to produce an artifact you keep. Skills are free to install and run; the site states there is no card and no trial timer for free skills.

What an Agent Skill actually is

An Agent Skill is a packaged workflow file (SKILL.md) rather than a standalone app. Instead of prompting an agent from scratch each time, you install a skill that encodes a repeatable process — the steps, structure, and output format for one kind of deliverable.

That means the value is in the workflow, not just a prompt. Two skills in the same category can produce very different results because each encodes different design or structural decisions.

How the library is organized

Skills are grouped by the type of thing you want to make. From the site's categories and listings:

Category Example skills
Web Collage Creative Portfolio, Obsidian Cinema Landing, Cadence Marketing Landing, Activity Calendar Chart, Dark Stat Hero
Image Procreate Style OG Image, GrokBot Avatar, Goodnotes Style OG Image, Hand-Drawn Visual Notes
Slides Starlit Deck, Editable Visual Deck, Brand Story Deck, Academic Argument Deck, Architectural Project Deck
Video Velocity-Matched UI Sting, Agent-Chorus Capability Reel, Liquid-Rupture Logo Reveal, Partnership Announcement Film

The homepage also surfaces Featured, Free, Trending, and Top-rated views, so you can start from popularity or from a zero-cost entry point rather than browsing everything.

How installation and use work

  1. Pick a skill by category or from the Featured/Free/Trending/Top-rated lists.
  2. Connect your agent — the site has a "Connect your agent" step and lists Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, plus "6 and more supported agents."
  3. Install the skill into that agent.
  4. Run it end to end — the agent follows the SKILL.md workflow to produce the deliverable.
  5. Keep what it makes — the output is a finished artifact (a page, image, deck, or video), not just a suggestion.

The site's own framing for free skills is "Install one, run it end to end, keep what it makes."

What you get and what to watch for

  • Free skills exist and are clearly labeled. The Free section includes items like GrokBot Avatar, Velocity-Matched UI Sting, Editable Visual Deck, Activity Calendar Chart, and Hand-Drawn Visual Notes.
  • Install counts are shown per skill (e.g., "11 installs," "8 installs"), which is a rough popularity signal — useful when two skills in a category look similar.
  • A Pricing page exists, so not everything is necessarily free. The free tier is explicitly described as no-card, no-trial, but treat paid or gated skills as a separate case and check the Pricing page before assuming access.
  • Supported agents matter. A skill only runs in an agent you've connected. If you use an agent outside the listed set, confirm compatibility first.

When Skillry is the right fit

Use it when you want a repeatable, category-specific output — a landing page, an OG image, a deck, a short video sting — and you'd rather install a proven workflow than rebuild the prompt each time. Skip it if you need a fully custom one-off with no reusable structure, or if your agent isn't among the supported ones.
