What Skill Categories and Types Can I Browse on Skillry?
Updated
Skillry organizes its Agent Skills into four creation categories — Web, Image, Slides, and Video — and lets you browse them through several entry points: Featured, Free, Trending, and Top-rated. Each skill card shows an install count and a rating, so you can judge popularity and quality before installing. If you know what you want to make, the "What do you want to create?" selector narrows the library by intent rather than by category name.
The four main categories
Every skill on Skillry falls into one of these four output types:
| Category | What it produces | Example skills from the library |
|---|---|---|
| Web | Landing pages, portfolio sites, charts, and interactive visuals | Creative Portfolio, Obsidian Cinema Landing, Activity Calendar Chart, Dark Stat Hero, Project Knowledge Graph |
| Image | Styled avatars, OG images, visual notes, and illustration sets | GrokBot Avatar, Procreate Style OG Image, Goodnotes Style OG Image, Hand-Drawn Visual Notes |
| Slides | Presentation decks for different narrative purposes | Starlit Deck, Editable Visual Deck, Brand Story Deck, Academic Argument Deck, Architectural Project Deck |
| Video | Launch films, logo reveals, capability reels, and kinetic stings | Velocity-Matched UI Sting, Partnership Announcement Film, Liquid-Rupture Logo Reveal, Agent-Chorus Capability Reel |
The category tells you the output format. The individual skill name tells you the style or purpose — for example, "Academic Argument Deck" and "Brand Story Deck" are both Slides skills, but they target very different presentation goals.
Browse entry points
Skillry surfaces skills through several curated views rather than one flat list:
- Featured Agent Skills — a hand-picked selection across all categories, mixing free and paid.
- Free Agent Skills — skills you can install and run end to end with no card and no trial timer, per the site's own description.
- 🔥 Trending Agent Skills — broken down by category (Trending Web Skills, Trending Slide Skills, Trending Video Skills), showing what's gaining installs right now.
- 🏆 Top-rated Agent Skills — sorted by rating rather than install count, useful when you want proven quality over raw popularity.
- "What do you want to create?" — an intent-based filter that starts from your goal instead of the category taxonomy.
How to pick a skill
- Start from your output. Decide whether you need a web page, an image, a slide deck, or a video. That immediately cuts the library to one category.
- Choose a browse view based on your priority. If cost matters, go to Free. If you want what's current, go to Trending. If you want the safest bet, go to Top-rated.
- Compare install count and rating on the card. Each skill displays both. A high install count with a solid rating suggests broad adoption; a lower count with a high rating may indicate a newer but well-liked skill.
- Check the style fit. Two skills in the same category can produce very different aesthetics — "Red Black Zine Deck" versus "Editable Visual Deck," for instance. Match the skill's name and description to the look you want.
- Install and run it. Skills are reusable
SKILL.mdworkflows, so once installed you can run the same skill repeatedly.
Compatibility note
Skillry skills are described as working with Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, and the site indicates support for additional agents beyond those three. If you use a different agent, check the compatibility indicator on the skill before installing.
What the numbers on each card mean
The two digits shown on every skill card are install count and rating. They serve different purposes: install count reflects how many people have adopted the skill, while rating reflects how satisfied those users were. A skill with 11 installs and a rating of 2 (like Velocity-Matched UI Sting) is popular but more divisive; one with 6 installs and a rating of 0 (like Dark Stat Hero) is newer with fewer signals. Use both together rather than either alone.
