How to Contribute to or Get Help from the AQ3D Wiki Community
Updated
The AQ3D Wiki (aq-3d.wikidot.com) is a community-maintained encyclopedia, and the site itself states that anyone can help by joining to edit pages or by reporting corrections through Twitter or Discord. If you want to fix a page, you first need a Wikidot account and site membership; if you just need an answer or want to flag an error, the Discord, the two forums, and the SiteFAQ are the fastest routes. The sections below cover both paths.
Contributing: Joining the Site to Edit Pages
The wiki describes itself as community-maintained and explicitly invites readers to "Join this site to edit pages." The practical sequence is:
- Create a Wikidot account. The homepage shows a "Create account or Sign in" link in its Site Tools area. Editing on Wikidot-hosted wikis requires a logged-in account, so this is the prerequisite step.
- Request membership via "Join this Site." The navigation includes a "Join this Site" entry alongside "Site Members." Membership is what converts a plain account into editing rights on this specific wiki.
- Check SiteFAQ before your first edit. The "Other Info" section lists a SiteFAQ, which is the place to look for the wiki's own conventions before you touch a page.
- Make your edit. Once you are a member, pages become editable. The wiki's own framing is that members "can help out" directly on pages.
If you would rather not join, the wiki offers a second channel: "let us know about any corrections on Twitter or Discord." That is the intended route for one-off fixes, typos, or outdated data when you do not want to take on an account and membership.
What Is Worth Contributing
The site's navigation maps out the content areas, which tells you what kinds of edits are useful:
| Area | Examples from the wiki navigation |
|---|---|
| World | Cutscenes, Dungeons, Events, Locations, Regions, Monsters, NPCs, Quests, Daily Quests, Shops, Craft Shops |
| Items | Armors, Weapons, Helms, Classes, Item Sets, House Items, Mounts, Pets, Resources, Tokens |
| Other Info | AQ3D FAQ, Commands, Exp Charts, Global Loot Table, Glossary, Guilds, Housing System, Item Augments, Item Infusion, Mail System, Main Menu, PTR, Scaling System, Timeline |
Corrections to item stats, quest steps, location details, or release dates in the Chronicle of Releases all fall inside these categories.
Getting Help: Where to Ask
Discord
The wiki links an "AQ3D Wiki Discord" under Other Info and repeats "Join Twitter Discord" in its Get Started block. Discord is the wiki team's own channel for corrections and questions, and it is the same place the team announces community events — for example, the wiki's 8th anniversary event was announced for Friday, November 10th at 4 PM EST in Pizza Party (/join pizzaparty), and the 7th anniversary event for Friday, November 11th at 4 PM EST in the Hall of Awesome. Those announcements show the Discord and in-game meetups are how the wiki community communicates.
Forums
Two forums are listed:
- AQ3D Forum — general AdventureQuest 3D discussion.
- Wiki Forum — wiki-specific discussion, which is the better fit for questions about page content, formatting, or missing entries.
Both sit under the site's Forums section, alongside Recent Posts.
SiteFAQ and the AQ3D FAQ
Do not confuse the two:
- SiteFAQ — how the wiki itself works (editing, membership, site conventions).
- AQ3D FAQ — questions about the game, listed under Other Info.
If your question is "how do I edit this page," start with SiteFAQ. If it is "how does this game system work," start with the AQ3D FAQ.

Common Stumbling Points
- An account alone is not enough. Creating a Wikidot account and joining the site are two separate steps; editing rights come from membership, not from registration.
- Use the right FAQ. SiteFAQ covers the wiki; the AQ3D FAQ covers the game. Checking the wrong one wastes time.
- Check Recent Changes first. If a page looks wrong, Recent Changes shows whether someone already edited it, which can save you a duplicate report.
- Announcements are time-stamped and dated. The homepage announcements carry specific dates (for example, November 4th, 2023, and November 1st, 2022), so treat them as historical records rather than current schedules.
