What Is the Abilene Philharmonic Website?

Updated

abiphil.com is the official website of the Abilene Philharmonic, a professional symphony orchestra organization based in Abilene, Texas. The site is the primary place to find upcoming concert dates, buy tickets, purchase season subscriptions, donate, and learn about the organization behind the orchestra. If you are looking for concert information, ticket links, or a way to support the Philharmonic, this is the correct official source.

What the organization is

The Abilene Philharmonic describes its purpose as unleashing the power of music to entertain, educate, and inspire through live symphonic music and community engagement. David Itkin is listed as Music Director.

The organization is not a single entity. According to the site, it is structured as three separate 501(c)3 non-profits, each with a distinct function:

Organization Role
Abilene Philharmonic Association Manages day-to-day operations and is responsible for planning and producing all concert and music education programs
Abilene Philharmonic Guild Supports the Philharmonic through volunteering, fundraising, and friend-raising
Abilene Philharmonic Foundation Oversees and manages endowment funds that ensure the orchestra's future financial well-being

This structure matters if you want to volunteer, donate, or understand where money goes — each function sits with a different body.

What you can do on the site

  • See upcoming concerts — the site lists the season's concert dates with individual ticket purchase links.
  • Buy a subscription — season packages are available, and the site states subscribers save 20% off the price of individual show tickets.
  • Purchase single tickets — each listed concert has its own purchase link.
  • Donate — there is a "Give to the Philharmonic" section.
  • Join the mailing list — a sign-up link is provided for email updates.
  • Read news and features — the site publishes items such as artist tributes and guest artist highlights.

Opening Night Soirée

The season opens with an Opening Night Soirée, described as an exclusive pre-concert event with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, sponsored by Clear Fork Bank, Arrow Ford, and Wesley Court. The site frames it as a formal start to the 76th concert season. If you want access to this event, check the site's ticket and event pages for details, since availability and pricing are not stated in the source material.
