Where to Download Anki for Desktop and Mobile

Anki downloads are available from apps.ankiweb.net. The desktop version is free and supports Windows, macOS, and Linux. On mobile, the official iOS app is AnkiMobile (a paid app that funds Anki's development), while AnkiDroid for Android is free and developed by contributors. Choose the download that matches your operating system and processor type.

Desktop downloads

The current desktop version listed on the page is 26.09.2. The free computer version is available for all major platforms.

Pick the entry that matches both your OS version and your processor architecture. For example, an Apple Silicon Mac needs the Apple Silicon build, not the Intel one. Installation details are covered in the separate installation guide linked from the downloads section.

Once installed, the basic workflow is straightforward: create a deck, add flashcards, then start reviewing. When you review, you rate your recall with the most suitable option, and Anki schedules the next review for when you're most likely to forget the information. Decks let you study specific parts of your collection instead of everything at once.
