What Are the Limitations of Carrd's Free Plan?

Carrd's free plan lets you build and publish up to three sites per account with all core features, but it caps you at three sites, keeps "Made with Carrd" branding in the footer, and excludes Pro-only features like custom domains, forms, embeds, analytics, and extra sites. If you only need a simple, responsive one-page site and don't mind the footer credit, the free plan is enough. If you need a custom domain or more than three sites, you'll need to upgrade.

What you can still do for free

  • Build one-page sites for a personal profile, a landing page to capture emails, or something more elaborate.
  • Start from dozens of templates or a blank page.
  • Rely on built-in responsiveness across phones, tablets, and desktops.
  • Use all of Carrd's core features.

What the free plan does not include

  • Custom domains. Free sites stay on a Carrd address; publishing to a domain you own requires Pro.
  • More than three sites. The three-site cap applies per account, so a fourth site needs Pro.
  • Forms. Contact, signup, custom, and payment-enabled forms are Pro features.
  • Widgets and embeds. Custom code and third-party widgets (Stripe, PayPal, Gumroad, Typeform, and others) are Pro features.
  • Site analytics. Tracking via Google Analytics, Plausible, Matomo, and similar tools is Pro-only.
  • No-branding publishing. Removing the "Made with Carrd" footer credit requires Pro.

When the free plan is enough — and when it isn't

Choose free if you're testing an idea, building a single personal profile or simple landing page, and the Carrd footer credit is acceptable.

Upgrade to Pro if any of these apply:

  • You want the site on your own domain.
  • You need a fourth site or more.
  • You need a contact, signup, or payment form.
  • You want to embed third-party widgets or custom code.
  • You want analytics.
  • You want the footer branding gone.
