Which image formats can Vectorizer.AI convert, and what can it export?

Updated

Vectorizer.AI accepts PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, and WebP raster images as input, and exports SVG, EPS, DXF, and PDF vector files — plus a "cleaned up" PNG pixel output. If your source image is in one of those five raster formats and your target is one of those four vector formats (or a tidied-up PNG), it's supported. Anything outside those lists — for example TIFF, HEIC, or RAW camera files — isn't listed as an accepted input on the site.

Input formats: what you can upload

The site lists these bitmap formats for upload:

Format Typical source
PNG Screenshots, logos, images with transparency
JPG / JPEG Photos, scanned artwork
GIF Simple graphics, older web assets
BMP Legacy Windows bitmaps
WebP Modern web images

These are all raster formats — grids of pixels, each with its own color. That's the raw material the vectorizer works from.

Output formats: what you can download

After processing, you can export:

  • SVG — the standard web vector format; scales to any size without blurring
  • EPS — common for print and design workflows
  • DXF — used for CAD and CNC cutting paths
  • PDF — practical for print, sharing, and documents
  • PNG (cleaned up) — a pixel output, not a vector, for cases where you still want a raster file

Matching format to purpose

The right export depends on what you'll do with the file:

  • Web use → SVG. Resolution-independent, small, and editable.
  • Print → PDF or EPS, depending on your print pipeline.
  • CAD / CNC / cutting / embroidery → DXF, since it carries the paths those tools need.
  • Still need pixels → the cleaned-up PNG output.

What the conversion actually does

The process runs in three steps, all in the browser with no software installation:

  1. Pick — drag and drop (or paste) a bitmap image onto the page.
  2. Process — the AI analyzes the pixels and converts them into geometric shapes.
  3. Download — inspect a full interactive preview, then download in your chosen format if you're satisfied.

The result is editable vector artwork with smooth curves, fine details, and clean colors — suitable for logos, illustrations, diagrams, sketches, and design assets. Because vectors are geometric rather than pixel-based, the output can be scaled to any resolution without getting blurry, and can be used to print, cut, embroider, and more.

Quick check before you start

  • Is your file PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, or WebP? If yes, it's an accepted input.
  • Do you need SVG, EPS, DXF, PDF, or a cleaned PNG? All are available as output.
  • Not sure which vector format fits? Pick by destination: web → SVG, print → PDF/EPS, CAD/CNC → DXF.

If your image is in a format outside the input list, convert it to one of the supported raster formats first, then upload.
