What Is MoeWalls?

Updated

MoeWalls is a website that offers free live and animated wallpapers for desktop screens. According to its own description, it targets users on Windows 10/8/7, Mac, and laptops, and it provides wallpapers in different resolutions. If you want moving or animated backgrounds for your computer rather than static images, MoeWalls is built for that purpose.

What MoeWalls Provides

The site describes itself as a source of "free Live Wallpapers, Animated Desktop" content meant to "make your screens alive and interesting." Its stated platform coverage is:

  • Windows 10
  • Windows 8
  • Windows 7
  • Mac
  • Laptop

Wallpapers are offered in multiple resolutions. One example visible on the site is a 3440x1440 live wallpaper titled "Rainy Cityscape Cat Silhouette," filed under the Lifestyle category.

How the Site Is Organized

MoeWalls groups its content into browsable sections rather than a single flat list. The visible sections include:

Section What it does
Latest Videos Shows the most recently added animated wallpapers
Popular Tags Lets you browse by theme or category
Live Wallpapers The main library of animated backgrounds
Add to Collection A way to save wallpapers into a personal collection

There is also a Disclaimer page, which is standard for sites that host or link downloadable media.

Who It's For

MoeWalls suits you if:

  • You want an animated or live desktop background instead of a still image.
  • You use Windows 10/8/7, a Mac, or a laptop.
  • You need a specific resolution, such as an ultrawide 3440x1440 display.
  • You prefer browsing by tags or by what's newest.

It is less relevant if you only want static wallpapers or need wallpapers for mobile devices, since the site's stated focus is desktop and laptop screens.

What to Check Before Downloading

The site presents its wallpapers as free, but the available page information does not detail account requirements, download limits, or licensing terms for reuse. Before using a wallpaper, confirm:

  • Whether the download requires an account or login.
  • The exact resolution matches your monitor.
  • Any usage or redistribution terms on the Disclaimer page.

These details matter if you plan to use the artwork beyond a personal desktop background.
