When and where does 18PDX 2027 take place?

18PDX 2027 runs 24–27 June 2027 at the Hilton Garden Inn Portland Airport in Portland, Oregon. The convention opens at 08:00 each morning, with gaming until midnight Thursday through Saturday and until 18:00 on Sunday. All times are Pacific Daylight Time.

Dates and daily hours

The schedule gives you three full late nights plus a shorter Sunday, which is worth factoring in if you're booking a flight home — a Sunday departure before 18:00 means missing the final day of play.

Venue and getting there

The event is held at the Hilton Garden Inn Portland Airport, which offers a discounted room package for attendees. A free shuttle runs from the airport, so you can arrive by plane and reach the hotel without arranging separate transport.

If you're deciding whether to stay on site: the hotel package keeps you in the same building as the gaming, which matters for a convention that runs to midnight. Staying elsewhere in Portland is possible but adds daily travel time.

What to expect when you arrive

A wide supply of 18xx games is typically available, brought by attendees and from local 18xx players' collections. If there's a specific title you want to play, bring it — availability depends on what others happen to pack. Several 18xx designers commonly attend and bring prototypes to play and discuss.

The 18PDX Discord is the place to plan and organise games ahead of time, and the site's galleries show games played in prior years if you want a sense of the typical table lineup.

Tickets

Payment is by PayPal to Dave Blanchard. Prices depend on when you buy:

Buying before 15 May saves $10 per day, or $25 on the full convention. If you're only coming for part of the weekend, the per-day rate applies either way — the four-day pass is the better value only if you plan to attend at least three days.
