Where to Find 18PDX Schedule, Hotel, Games, and Ticket Details

Updated

All four sections are on the official site, 18pdx.com. The convention runs 24–27 June 2027 at the Hilton Garden Inn Portland Airport, with games from attendees' collections and designers' prototypes, and tickets paid via PayPal to Dave Blanchard. Below is what each section covers and the details you need before booking.

Schedule: when the gaming rooms are open

All times are Pacific Daylight Time.

Day Hours
Thursday, 24 June 2027 08:00–24:00
Friday, 25 June 2027 08:00–24:00
Saturday, 26 June 2027 08:00–24:00
Sunday, 27 June 2027 08:00–18:00

The first three days run to midnight; Sunday closes at 18:00, so plan any long 18xx titles accordingly.

Hotel: where to stay

The venue is the Hilton Garden Inn Portland Airport, which offers a discounted room package for attendees. A free shuttle from the airport is available, which matters if you're flying in for the convention.

Games: what's available and how to plan

  • A wide supply of 18xx games is commonly available, brought by attendees and from local 18xx players' collections.
  • If there's something you particularly want to play, bring it — availability depends on what others pack.
  • Several 18xx designers commonly bring their prototypes to play and discuss.
  • Use the 18PDX Discord to plan and organise games before and during the event.
  • The site's galleries show games played in prior years if you want a sense of the typical lineup.

Tickets: prices and how to buy

Payment is by PayPal to Dave Blanchard.

Purchase window Single day Full 4 days
In advance, before 15 May $25 $75
After 15 May $35 $100

Buying before 15 May saves $10 per day, or $25 on the full convention. The site does not state whether tickets are available at the door beyond the "after 15 May" pricing, so if you're deciding late, confirm with the organisers via the Discord before travelling.

Practical checklist

  1. Check the Schedule section for daily hours and pick your days.
  2. Book the Hilton Garden Inn Portland Airport under the discounted room package; use the free airport shuttle.
  3. Post in the 18PDX Discord with the titles you want to play, and bring any game you specifically want on the table.
  4. Send PayPal payment to Dave Blanchard before 15 May for the lower rate.
