Which Minecraft server types does mcsrvstat.us support?

Updated

mcsrvstat.us supports three categories of Minecraft servers: Minecraft Java (1.7 and newer), Minecraft Bedrock, and any server with enable-query=true. If your server falls into one of these groups, you can look up its status on the site. The one thing to remember is that Bedrock servers require you to tick the "Bedrock server?" checkbox before checking — otherwise the lookup is treated as a Java query.

Supported server types

Server type Supported? What you need to do
Minecraft Java 1.7+ Yes Enter the server address and check status
Minecraft Bedrock Yes Enter the address and enable the "Bedrock server?" option
Servers with enable-query=true Yes Enter the server address and check status

The site's own description states: "Minecraft Java (1.7+), Minecraft Bedrock or servers with enable-query=true are supported."

How to tell which category your server is in

  • Java 1.7 or newer — the standard Java Edition server. Just enter the address as players would type it.
  • Bedrock — the edition used on consoles, mobile, and the Windows Bedrock client. These use a different protocol, so the Bedrock checkbox matters.
  • enable-query=true — a setting in server.properties for Java servers that turns on the GameSpy4 query protocol. If your server has this enabled, it can be queried even in cases where the normal status ping is restricted.

Why the Bedrock checkbox exists

Java and Bedrock use different status protocols. If you enter a Bedrock address without selecting the Bedrock option, the site will try a Java-style query and the result won't reflect your actual server. Ticking the box tells the tool to use the Bedrock protocol instead.

Testing with a known server

If you're not sure whether your address is formatted correctly, the site lists example servers you can try first:

  • Java: play.mineluxmc.com, mc.mineberry.org, mc.manacube.net, extremecraft.net
  • Bedrock: performium.net, play.histeria.fr, geo.hivebedrock.network, play.nethergames.org, play.venitymc.com, play.inpvp.net

Running one of these through the checker confirms the tool is working before you troubleshoot your own server.

Common reasons a supported server still fails

  • Wrong edition selected — a Bedrock server checked as Java (or the reverse) will not resolve correctly.
  • Port issues — if your server runs on a non-default port, the address usually needs to include it.
  • Query disabled and non-standard setup — a Java server older than 1.7, or one that blocks status pings without enable-query=true, won't return results.

If your server is Java 1.7+, Bedrock, or has query enabled, mcsrvstat.us is designed to handle it — just make sure the edition option matches your server.
