What is MindsHub and what can you do with it?

Updated

MindsHub is an AI platform for work and engineering that lets you choose among leading AI models and providers instead of being tied to one lab. It positions itself as "the frontier lab alternative that you can control" and a drop-in replacement for OpenAI and Anthropic, offering the same SDKs, apps, and capabilities. It suits two groups: people using AI to get work done, and developers building AI into products. You can start without a credit card, and there's a free tier built around the MindsHub Air model.

What MindsHub actually offers

The platform is organized around three main surfaces, each aimed at a different kind of task.

MindsHub Agents

Delegate tasks to AI agents that research, analyze, and build reports or apps in an agent workspace. This is the "get work done" side — you hand over a goal and the agent works through it.

MindsHub Code

Review PRs, fix bugs, and ship features in your own repositories. This is the engineering side, aimed at developers working in existing codebases.

MindsHub Inference

Plug any model into your code. You call major models — the site names Kimi K3, GPT-6 Astra, and Claude — with one key and one bill. This is the integration side, for developers building AI into products.

What a real task looks like

The clearest way to understand the agent workspace is the sample prompt shown on the site: building an interactive KPI app.

The request was to build an app the team could use to explore KPIs — MRR, signups, NRR — pulling live from Postgres and Stripe, with the ability to open a Linear ticket and assign it directly from the app when something looked off, then publish it for the team.

The agent's reported steps:

  • Planned the analysis: 3 KPIs, live refresh, drill-down by segment
  • Connected to PostgreSQL via a credentials vault — no raw key exposed
  • Queried Stripe for MRR and signups, reconciling 1,204 subscriptions
  • Wired up Linear for one-click assignment, creating issues straight from flagged rows
  • Published kpi-app.html to a live, shareable URL

The result it returned: MRR up +9.4% week-over-week to $128.4k, plus a flag that signup checkout was erroring for EU accounts, surfaced for someone to pick up.

Two things are worth noting here. First, the agent connected to external systems (Postgres, Stripe, Linear) rather than just producing text. Second, it surfaced an anomaly it found along the way instead of only answering the literal question.

Where you can use it

Entry point What it is
Desktop app The main application
Guest Playground A way to try it without committing
MindsHub Air The model available on the free tier

The interface also references Projects, Connectors, Skills, Code tasks, Scheduled Tasks, Live Artifacts, Connected Apps and Data, and Agent Memories — suggesting the platform is designed to hold context and recurring work across sessions, not just single one-off prompts.

Who it's for

If you use AI to get work done: the Agents surface and the KPI app example are the relevant parts. You describe an outcome, connect the data sources, and get a shareable artifact back.

If you build AI into products: Inference is the relevant part. One key and one bill across multiple providers is the pitch, and the "drop-in replacement" framing means existing SDK usage is meant to carry over.

If you work in code: Code handles PRs, bugs, and features in your own repos.

Getting started

The site states no credit card is required, and points to a free tier page for details on what it includes. Since the free tier is tied to the MindsHub Air model, treat the free tier as a way to evaluate the platform rather than as a guarantee of access to every model listed. For current pricing and what each tier covers, check the pricing page directly — the input doesn't specify plan limits or costs beyond the free-tier references.
