What Tutorials and Tools Are Available on CubeSkills?
Updated
CubeSkills hosts speedcubing tutorials organized by puzzle type, plus a small set of practice tools. The tutorial library covers 3x3, 3x3 one-handed, 4x4, 5x5, big cubes, Megaminx, and other puzzles, with separate algorithm pages for 3x3 and other puzzles. Tools listed on the site are Solve Critiques, a PLL Recognition Trainer, and a Glossary. You can browse the tutorial and tool menus without an account, but the site asks visitors to sign up for a free membership to access tutorials and other content.
Tutorials by puzzle type
The navigation lists tutorials as separate sections, so you can go straight to the puzzle you're working on:
- 3x3 — the main solve tutorials, plus a separate 3x3 Algorithms section
- 3x3 One Handed — one-handed solving videos
- 4x4
- 5x5
- Big Cube — cubes larger than 5x5
- Megaminx
- Other — remaining puzzle tutorials
- Other Algorithms — algorithm references outside the 3x3 set
If you're a beginner, start with the 3x3 section and use the 3x3 Algorithms page as a reference while you learn. If you already solve 3x3 and want to move up, the 4x4 and 5x5 sections are the next step, and Big Cube covers the larger sizes after that.
Tools
Three tools appear in the site navigation:
| Tool | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Solve Critiques | Review and feedback on solves |
| PLL Recognition Trainer | Practicing recognition of PLL cases |
| Glossary | Reference for cubing terms |
The PLL Recognition Trainer is the most narrowly targeted of the three — it's aimed at solvers who already know PLL and want to identify cases faster. The Glossary is useful when you hit an unfamiliar term in a tutorial or in competition discussion.
Blog, livestreams, and updates
Beyond tutorials and tools, the site has a Blog section, a separate Feliks' Blog, and Livestreams. These are worth checking if you follow competition results or want context around the tutorials.
One thing to know before you plan around new content: a site update notes that, given the author's work and life schedule, new videos and content are not currently being released, though this could change in the future. The existing tutorial library and tools remain available, but don't expect a steady stream of new material.
Membership and access
The site offers a free membership sign-up, and the homepage states that signing up gives access to tutorials and other content. A Premium Membership option also appears in the navigation, and "premium" is the only pricing-related signal on the page — no prices, payment platforms, or specific premium-only content are listed in the available material. If you need to know exactly what premium includes, check the membership page directly rather than assuming.
Quick way to decide where to start
- New to solving: 3x3 tutorials, then the 3x3 Algorithms page
- Comfortable with 3x3: 3x3 One Handed, then 4x4
- Beyond 5x5: Big Cube section
- Non-cube puzzles: Megaminx and Other
- Improving recognition: PLL Recognition Trainer
- Unfamiliar terminology: Glossary
