What is DagsHub and what does it do?
Updated
DagsHub is a platform for managing AI data and models in one place. It is aimed at data scientists and AI teams who need to curate and annotate multimodal datasets, track experiments, and manage models and deployments without stitching together separate tools. According to the site, over 65,000 data scientists build AI with DagsHub.
Core capabilities
DagsHub organizes its work around three main areas, all on a single platform:
- Curate and annotate multimodal datasets — Connect multiple data sources, then enrich, query, visualize, and annotate vision, audio, and LLM data. The goal is turning large volumes of data into "golden datasets" for improving models.
- Track experiments and compare results — Follow experiment progress, understand trends, and compare results. It is compatible with MLflow.
- Manage models and deployments — Manage model versions, deploy to production, and create a full model lineage from model back to source data.
Who it is for
DagsHub targets individuals building small AI applications up through enterprise teams running high-scale workloads. The pricing page lists three tiers:
| Tier | Price | Intended for |
|---|---|---|
| Individual | $0 per user/month | Individuals building small AI applications |
| Team | $119 per user/month (monthly) or $99 per user/month (yearly) | Production applications with the power to scale |
| Enterprise | Custom quote | AI applications running high scale workloads |
The Team tier includes a 14-day free trial. The Individual tier includes unlimited public repositories with unlimited collaborators, unlimited private repositories for non-commercial use, unlimited experiment tracking for public repositories, up to 100 tracked experiments in private repositories, up to 2 collaborators in private projects, 20GB of DagsHub Storage, data versioning and lineage, an annotations workspace for public repositories, notebook versioning and diffing, CI/CD/CT integration, interactive pipelines, and community support.
The Team tier adds unlimited private repositories, multimodal annotation and auto-labeling, the ability to connect your own storage, Label Studio compatibility, team RBAC, and priority support. The Enterprise tier adds petabyte-scale data management, model deployment to your cluster, full VPC/air-gapped on-premise installation, SSO/LDAP/OIDC, RBAC, OpenShift compatibility, organizational resource control, and an enterprise SLA.
How it fits into an ML stack
DagsHub is designed to integrate with existing workflows rather than replace them. It supports using your preferred ML framework, building on open-source formats, and connecting secure cloud storage and MLOps tools. This means teams can keep their current tooling while adding data curation, experiment tracking, and model management on top.
When to consider it
DagsHub is a reasonable fit if you want dataset annotation, experiment tracking, and model management under one roof, especially if you work with multimodal data (vision, audio, LLM) and want MLflow-compatible tracking. The free Individual tier suits small projects and public work; the Team tier is the step up for production use with private repositories and team controls. If you need petabyte-scale data, on-premise or air-gapped deployment, or enterprise identity integration, the Enterprise tier is the relevant option.
