What Can You Do at Ross Cottom Lanes in Harrisburg, IL?

Ross Cottom Lanes is a bowling and entertainment center in Harrisburg, Illinois, combining bowling, an arcade, and a full bar and grill under one roof. It suits family nights, group outings, league bowlers, and parties — and the site states it has been a hometown fixture since 1956. If you're deciding whether to visit, the sections below cover what's available, who each option fits, and how to get started.

Bowling

The core attraction is bowling, with several ways to play:

• Open bowling — casual games for friends or family, no league commitment required.
• Cosmic bowling — the site lists cosmic nights among its regular offerings, so it's worth asking about scheduling when you book.
• High school matches — the center hosts high school bowling, so lanes may be busier on match days.

The site describes lanes rolling "all week long," so hours vary by day and by event schedule. Booking a lane in advance is the safest route for groups.

Leagues

Leagues at Ross Cottom Lanes are open to all ages and skill levels, from casual weekend bowlers to experienced players. That makes it a reasonable option if you want regular competition without needing a high average to join. The site also references honor scores, which suggests it tracks and recognizes standout league performances.

If you're unsure which league fits your schedule or skill level, the practical step is to call and ask what's currently forming.

Arcade

The arcade is a full game zone with both classic and newer games, and it includes prizes. It works well as a secondary activity — something for kids or non-bowlers in your group to do between frames or after a game.

Bar & Grill

The on-site bar and grill serves burgers, wings, and cold drinks from a full bar. The site also references a cafe. This means you can eat a meal without leaving the building, which is useful for longer visits, parties, or league nights.

Parties and Events

The site lists dedicated booking options for:

• Birthday parties
• General events
• Corporate events
• Fundraisers

If your goal is a group celebration, these are the relevant paths rather than standard open bowling. The site provides a "plan a party" option alongside lane booking.

Booking and Contact

Two actions are offered directly on the site: book a lane and plan a party. For anything specific — league sign-ups, cosmic bowling times, party availability, or fundraiser details — contact the center:

• Phone: (618) 253-8417
• Email: [email protected]

Is It the Right Fit?

Ross Cottom Lanes fits family fun, group outings, and league interest in one location. The main thing to confirm before visiting is timing — call ahead for lane availability, cosmic bowling nights, and league start dates, since the site doesn't publish a fixed schedule.
