What Is the X Help Center?
Updated
The X Help Center is the official support site for X (formerly Twitter), hosted at help.x.com. It provides answers to common questions and guidance on using X, organized into categories such as Rules and Policies, Managing your account, Using X, and Safety and security. If you have a question about how X works, why your account was locked or suspended, or how to change your email or phone number, this is the site to check first.
What you can find there
The homepage opens with a search prompt ("What can we help you find?") and a set of topic categories, each listing a few frequently viewed articles:
| Category | Example articles |
|---|---|
| Rules and Policies | How we enforce our rules; Notices on X and what they mean; How cookies are used on X |
| Managing your account | About suspended accounts; Help with locked or limited account; How to add your phone number; How to update your email address |
| Using X | How to Post; About X.com supported browsers; About Direct Messages |
| Safety and security | How to protect your personal information; About public and protected Posts; Help with my compromised account |
Each category links to a full article list, so the homepage is a starting point rather than the whole library.
How to use it
- Enter your question in the search box, or pick the category that matches your issue.
- Open the article and follow its steps. Articles are written as instructions, so the expected result is usually stated alongside each action.
- If your situation isn't covered, check the "More resources" section at the bottom of the homepage, which links to related material on X Premium, Creator Subscriptions, identifying information for a post, Moment, List, X Space, Community or X Shop, and your For you timeline.
The site also offers direct download links for X on iPhone and Android, so you can install the app from the same page.
What it is not
The Help Center is a documentation site, not a live support channel. It doesn't show pricing for X Premium or Creator Subscriptions — those pages are linked as resources, and any cost or eligibility details would live on X itself. It also doesn't replace account-specific review: if you're appealing a suspension or a locked account, the article explains the process, but the decision happens through X's systems, not on the help pages.
When to start here
Start at help.x.com when you want to understand a policy, fix an account setting, or learn how a feature behaves before using it. If your problem is that your account is compromised or limited, the Safety and security and Managing your account sections are the relevant ones. For anything tied to a paid product, treat the Help Center as the explainer and X's own product pages as the source for current terms.
