What is TR Register New Zealand?

Updated

TR Register New Zealand is a national car club for the TR Marque, formed in 1975. It serves owners and enthusiasts of TR cars and their derivatives across New Zealand, with around 300 members spread nationwide. The club's stated purpose is the enjoyment and promotion of the TR Marque in NZ, and it maintains a register of all TRs and their derivatives in the country — both on and off the road — with that provenance available to members and prospective members.

Who it's for

If you own, are restoring, or are considering a TR or a derivative model in New Zealand, the club is built around that interest. The register function means the organisation tracks cars in the country rather than only hosting social events, so it can be useful whether your car is currently road-registered or off the road.

How it's organised

The country is split into 10 Regional Zones — 7 in the North Island and 3 in the South Island:

Island Regional Zones
North Island Auckland (AKL), Bay of Plenty (BOP), Hawke's Bay (HAB), Northland (NTL), Waikato (WAI), Wellington / Manawatu (WEM), Whanganui / Taranaki (WHT)
South Island Canterbury (CAN), Nelson / Marlborough (NEM), Otago / Deep South (ODS)

Each region organises its own runs, events, and regular get-togethers at various venues on agreed dates. These local events and meetings appear on the club's event calendar.

National events

A National Event is held annually to bring members from different regions together. This National Weekend takes place at various locations around New Zealand, alternating between the North Island and the South Island.

Joining

The site states that membership is open and directs prospective members to a page explaining how to join TR Register New Zealand. If you want the register's provenance information or want to take part in regional and national events, that join page is the starting point.
