How Long Do Uploaded Save Files Last on GTASnP.com?
Updated
New uploads on GTASnP.com expire and are automatically deleted 30 days after their last download. The clock resets each time someone downloads the file, so a save that keeps getting downloaded stays available; one that nobody touches for 30 days is removed. Uploads are also public and anonymous — anyone can browse and download them, and no account or identifying information is attached.
What "30 days after last download" actually means
The expiry is not a fixed 30-day window from the upload date. It is a sliding window tied to download activity:
- Upload day: the file becomes available immediately and is listed publicly.
- Each download: resets the 30-day countdown.
- 30 days with no downloads: the file is deleted automatically.
So a save uploaded once and downloaded regularly can persist well beyond 30 days, while a save nobody downloads disappears a month after it was posted.
What this means for what you upload
Because every upload is public and anonymous, treat the upload page as a public drop box rather than private storage:
- Don't upload private or sensitive files. Anything you submit can be seen and downloaded by other visitors.
- Only upload supported save types. The site directs you to its Supported Games page to confirm what save games are allowed before uploading.
- Expect no permanent archive. If you need a save kept long-term, keep your own copy — the site is a sharing tool, not a backup service.
The site's Disclaimer page covers uploaded content in more detail if you want the full terms.
How to upload a save
- Go to the Upload page.
- Click to select a save file, or drag and drop it onto the page.
- Wait for the upload to finish — the page shows an "Uploading, please wait..." state.
- If the standard uploader doesn't work, use the classic upload form linked on the same page.
Once uploaded, the file is public and the 30-day inactivity timer starts.
Recent changes worth knowing
The site has discontinued support for RDR 2 saves and pre-1.06 San Andreas mobile saves (announced September 27, 2026). New uploads of those types are no longer accepted, though existing saves remain available for now. The stated reasons:
- Pre-1.06 SA mobile saves were never properly readable — they contain extra data that is hard to filter out, and the issue was fixed over 10 years ago in game version 1.06.
- RDR 2 saves are encrypted and unreadable by the site, similar to GTA V saves, which led to non-save files being uploaded disguised as RDR 2 or GTA V saves.
GTA V support is being kept because the maintainer has received information that may allow the site to read GTA V save data. A planned update may add better GTA V support, including stats, mission progress, and a collectible map, but there is no ETA yet.
