How to Upload a Save File to GTASnP.com
Updated
Go to the Upload page on GTASnP.com, then either click the upload area to open your file picker or drag a save file directly onto it. Once the file is selected, the site uploads it automatically and shows an "Uploading, please wait..." message. If the main uploader doesn't respond, use the classic upload form linked on the same page.
Before You Upload
Two things determine whether an upload will work:
- The file must be a save for a supported game. The Upload page points to the Supported Games page for the exact list. Uploading something that isn't a save (for example, a renamed file) will fail or be rejected.
- The save must be from a version the site can read. As of the September 27, 2026 update, GTASnP.com no longer accepts RDR 2 saves or pre-1.06 San Andreas mobile saves. Pre-1.06 SA mobile saves were never reliably readable because they contain extra data that's hard to filter out, and the underlying issue was fixed in game version 1.06. RDR 2 saves, like GTA V saves, are encrypted and not readable by the site, which led to non-save files being uploaded disguised as RDR 2 or GTA V saves. GTA V support is being kept because the site owner has received information that may allow GTA V save data to be read in a future update.
Step-by-Step Upload
- Open the Upload page on GTASnP.com.
- Choose one of the two input methods:
- Click the upload area ("Click here to select a save file") to open your system's file picker, then select the save.
- Drag and drop the save file onto the upload area.
- Wait for the "Uploading, please wait..." message to finish. The site handles the transfer; you don't need to click a separate submit button.
- If nothing happens, click the classic upload form link below the main uploader and upload through that instead.
Expected result: the file is accepted and becomes available as a public, anonymous download on the site.
What Happens After Upload
| Behavior | Detail |
|---|---|
| Visibility | All uploaded files are made public and anonymous |
| Expiry | New uploads expire and are automatically deleted 30 days after their last download |
| Re-uploading | Downloading your own file resets the 30-day clock, since expiry counts from the last download |
If you need a save to stay available longer than 30 days of inactivity, someone (including you) has to download it again before the window closes.
Common Problems
- Nothing happens when you click. Use the classic upload form instead.
- Upload fails or the file is rejected. Confirm the save is for a supported game and isn't an RDR 2 save or a pre-1.06 SA mobile save, both of which are no longer accepted.
- You uploaded a non-save file by mistake. The site has protections against files disguised as saves, but the safest check is to confirm the file came from the game's own save directory before uploading.
For the current list of accepted games, check the Supported Games page linked from the Upload page, since support can change with site updates.
