How to Contribute to or Get Help from the Balatro Wiki Community
Updated
You can contribute to Balatro Wiki by creating an account and using the Editor Portal, or get help by joining the wiki's Discord community. The wiki is community-maintained and licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 3.0, so edits are welcome but must follow that license and the site's terms. The site is up to date with version 1.0.1o-FULL (Friends of Jimbo 4) as of 29 September, 2026.
Getting help from the community
The fastest route to human help is the wiki's Discord, linked directly from the navigation menu. It sits alongside the other community spaces the wiki points to:
- Wiki Discord — the wiki's own community channel, listed under "Wiki Community" and in the sidebar.
- Official Balatro Discord — for the game itself rather than wiki editing.
- r/balatro — the main subreddit community.
- Balatro speedrunning and Modded Balatro wiki — listed as other communities for specialized interests.
If you just need information rather than conversation, the wiki's own navigation covers the game's systems: Core Concepts, Jokers (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary), Decks, Poker hands, Card modifiers, Shop, Stakes, Blinds, Tags, Consumables (Tarot, Planet, and Spectral cards), Vouchers, and Booster Packs. There is also a Full collection page and an Updates page.
Contributing as an editor
Step 1: Create an account or log in
The personal tools menu offers Create account and Log in. Editing under an account is the normal path into the wiki's editor workflow.
Step 2: Go through the Editor Portal
The Editor Portal is the wiki's dedicated entry point for contributors, listed in the main navigation. Use it to find where editing help and conventions live before making changes.
Step 3: Make and review edits
Standard wiki mechanics apply, and the page interface exposes them directly:
- Read — view the current article.
- View source — see and edit the underlying wikitext.
- View history — check what changed and when.
- Recent changes — see the latest edits across the wiki.
- Random page — jump to an article you might improve.
Every page also has What links here, Related changes, Printable version, Permanent link, and Page information under Tools, which help you check an article's context before editing.
Step 4: Follow the license and terms
Content on the site is licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 3.0, with additional terms possibly applying. The footer links to Privacy policy, About Balatro Wiki, Disclaimers, Terms of Use, and Contact. Read these before contributing, since they govern how your edits can be reused.
What the wiki currently covers
The wiki reports 515 articles, 999 files, and 29,355 edits, and states it is current with version 1.0.1o-FULL (Friends of Jimbo 4). Its latest news item covers Friends of Jimbo 4, which adds cosmetic card skins featuring characters such as Vault Boy, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, and Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III.
Common sticking points
- Account creation is the gate. Without logging in you can still read and view source, but contributing properly starts with an account.
- License is non-commercial and share-alike. CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 means reuse must credit the source, stay non-commercial, and carry the same license — worth knowing before you copy text elsewhere.
- Version drift. The wiki tracks a specific game version; if you are playing a different build, check the Updates page before treating an article as current.
- Ask before assuming. For anything unclear about editing conventions, the wiki Discord is the intended place to ask.
