What Is Dafen Welfare AFC?

Dafen Welfare AFC is a football club based in Dafen, a village on the outskirts of Llanelli in Wales. It is known by the nickname the Bluebirds, and its official home online is dafenafc.co.uk. If you are looking for fixtures, results, club news, or a way to get involved with a local Welsh football club, the official website is the starting point.

Where the club is based

Dafen is a village within the Llanelli area of Carmarthenshire, south-west Wales. The club's identity is tied to that community: the "Welfare" in its name reflects the traditional association between local football clubs and community welfare grounds or welfare associations, a common pattern in Welsh and British grassroots football.

The Bluebirds nickname is shared with several clubs, so when searching online it helps to use the full name "Dafen Welfare AFC" or the site dafenafc.co.uk rather than the nickname alone.

How to follow the club

The official website, dafenafc.co.uk, is the primary place to check for:

• Fixtures – upcoming matches and dates
• Results – scores from completed games
• Club news – announcements and updates
• Team information – squads and club structure

Because local football schedules can change at short notice, treat the official site as the authoritative source rather than third-party listings.

Getting involved or showing support

Community clubs like Dafen Welfare AFC typically rely on local support. Practical ways to engage include:

1. Check the website first – look for a contact page or club news posts explaining current needs.
2. Attend matches – supporting the team in person is the most direct form of involvement.
3. Ask about volunteering – grassroots clubs often need help with matchday tasks, fundraising, or administration.
4. Follow club communications – regular updates on the site will indicate when the club is recruiting players, coaches, or helpers.
