What Is friendsathletics.com?

Updated

friendsathletics.com is the official athletics website for Friends University, a university in Wichita, Kansas. It is the online home for the university's intercollegiate sports programs, publishing news, scores, schedules, videos, and photo galleries for fans, students, parents, recruits, and media. If you are looking for official information about Friends University teams, this is the source the university itself operates.

Who runs the site

The site is maintained by Friends University as its official athletics presence, not a fan blog or third-party aggregator. That matters because content published here reflects the department's own announcements, results, and promotional material rather than independent reporting. The site's own title and description identify it as "the official athletics website for the Friends University."

What you can find here

Based on the site's structure, the main content areas include:

  • Top Stories – featured news and headlines about teams and athletes
  • Content Stream – a running feed of published items
  • Videos – game highlights, interviews, and other media
  • Galleries – photo collections from events and competitions
  • Newsletter – a sign-up option for updates delivered to you

Navigation is organized through a main menu, so you can move between sports, news, and media sections.

Who the site is for

Audience What they typically use it for
Fans and alumni Following scores, schedules, and stories
Current students Supporting teams and finding event info
Parents and family Tracking athletes and team news
Prospective recruits Learning about programs and the department
Media Pulling official results and announcements

Why the "official" label matters

Because this is the university's own athletics site, information here carries the department's authority. For schedules, rosters, and results, treat it as the primary source. For independent analysis or critical coverage, you would need to look elsewhere, since an official site presents the department's own perspective.

If you want to confirm a detail about a Friends University team, start with the relevant section of this site rather than a search result or social post, and use the newsletter option if you want updates pushed to you.
