Which cars are covered by The 1100 Club (BMC 1100/1300 ADO16)?
The 1100 Club covers the BMC 1100/1300 range, known internally as the ADO16 — a front-wheel-drive family that ran from the 1962 Morris 1100 through to the Mk3 Austin 1300, and includes the MG, Wolseley, Riley and Vanden Plas versions built in between. If your car is one of those BMC/BL badge-engineered 1100 or 1300 saloons, it falls inside the club's scope, whatever the badge on the bonnet says.

Why the club defines the range this way
The 1100 Club was formed in the UK in 1985 specifically for owners of the BMC 1100/1300 (ADO16) range. Its stated aim is to provide members with technical help, support and information, and to keep as many examples of the ADO16 on the road for as long as possible. That aim explains the broad model coverage — the mechanical and body commonality across the badges is what makes a single club workable.
Not just a UK club
Although based in the UK, the club has an international following, with members in Europe, the USA and Asia as well as New Zealand and Australia. So owning an ADO16 outside Britain is not a barrier to membership.
What membership gives you, in outline
The club produces a bi-monthly magazine, Idle Chatter, six times a year. Members can log into the Members' Area to access every back issue, a searchable technical information database, PDFs of key 1100-related documents, and classified adverts — the latest ads are available to members exclusively in the Members' Area for the first two weeks of posting.
The club has also gone beyond documentation: in 2019 it purchased the original BMC factory front wing tooling for the 1100 and 1300 range, recommissioned it, and in 2020 used it to produce a run of new panels, which are available to purchase.
