How to Access the Classic Version of the FunJoint Website
Updated
The classic version of FunJoint is still online and can be reached directly at https://www.funjoint.com/classic.htm. The current FunJoint site links to it from its "Hello and Welcome" post, which notes that the old version has been around for over 20 years. If you want the older layout and its accumulated content rather than the newer posts, that classic URL is the entry point.
What the classic site is
FunJoint describes itself as a guide to games and fun stuff — reviews, lists, trivia, retro gaming, and party ideas, plus indoor and outdoor game rules for kids and adults. The classic page is the earlier version of that same project, preserved rather than replaced.
The current site is a newer build. Its welcome post ("Hello and Welcome," dated June 6, 2020) says a new version of the site is coming soon, and the introduction post ("Welcome to Fun: Introduction to FunJoint Games, Puzzles, Amusements," June 11, 2020) lists the topics planned for the new site: gaming, puzzles, indoor and outdoor fun, retro games, comics, magic tricks, toys, party time, and amusement parks.
How to get there
- Go to https://www.funjoint.com/classic.htm directly, or
- Start at funjoint.com, open the "Hello and Welcome" post, and follow the classic-version link inside it.
Either route lands on the same older site. No account or special step is described in the source material.
What you'll find on each version
| Classic version | Current version | |
|---|---|---|
| Access | /classic.htm | funjoint.com |
| Age | Described as around for over 20 years | Launched 2020, with posts still being added |
| Content | The original site's material | New posts on gaming, puzzles, retro games, comics, magic tricks, toys, parties, amusement parks |
| Status | Preserved and browsable | Actively being built out |
A note on the newer content
If your interest is specifically DIY carnival games — balloon pop, prize boards, and similar booth ideas for schools, churches, fundraisers, or home parties — that material sits on the current site, not the classic one. The classic page is the place to go for the site's older, longer-running collection.
The practical split: use the classic URL when you want the historical version, and the main funjoint.com domain when you want the newer posts.
