How the Build a Custom Box Option Works at Norman Love Confections

Updated

Build a Custom Box lets you choose the box size and then pick the flavors you want inside, rather than accepting a pre-set assortment. The site describes the process in three steps: "Select the perfect box size, choose their favorite flavors (or yours), and we'll handle the rest." Each piece is placed by hand and packaged for gifting. It's the right option if you already know which flavors you like, are buying for someone with specific preferences, or want a gift that doesn't include anything the recipient will skip.

What you can customize

Two things are under your control:

  • Box size — you start by picking the size, which determines how many pieces you're choosing.
  • Flavors — you fill that box with the flavors you want. The Signature Collection is the flavor library you're drawing from, and the site notes it includes 25 flavors ("All 25 Signature Flavors" appears alongside the 25 Piece Signature Gift Box).

Everything after that is handled for you: hand placement of each piece and gift-ready packaging.

Custom box sizes and prices

The page lists these custom options:

Box Price
Custom 50 Piece Signature Box $123.00
Custom 25 Piece Signature Box $71.00

For comparison, the standard (non-custom) Signature Gift Boxes on the same page are priced at:

Box Price
50 Piece Signature Gift Box $118.00
32 Piece Signature Gift Box $79.00
25 Piece Signature Gift Box $66.00
16 Piece Signature Gift Box $47.00
10 Piece Signature Gift Box $32.00
5 Piece Signature Gift Box $17.00

So customizing costs more than the equivalent standard box: $5 more at 50 pieces ($123 vs. $118) and $5 more at 25 pieces ($71 vs. $66). If you don't have flavor preferences and just want the assortment, the standard box is the cheaper route. If you do want to choose, the custom box is the one that lets you.

How to build one

  1. Open the Build a Custom Box page (the homepage links to it as "Build A Box").
  2. Choose your box size — 25 or 50 pieces based on the listed custom options.
  3. Select your flavors from the Signature Collection.
  4. Check out. Your box is then hand-packed and packaged for gifting.

Common snags

  • Custom sizes are limited. The page shows custom boxes at 25 and 50 pieces only, even though standard gift boxes go down to 5 pieces. If you want a small customized box, that option isn't shown here.
  • You're choosing from the Signature Collection. The 25 flavors referenced are the Signature flavors; the custom box isn't presented as a way to mix in other product lines like dark chocolate or gourmet treats, which have their own shop pages.
  • Budget for the customization premium. Expect to pay a few dollars more than the same-size standard box.

If your goal is simply to send a well-regarded assortment, a standard Signature Gift Box covers it for less. If your goal is a box with only the flavors you or your recipient actually want, Build a Custom Box is the path — pick your size, pick your flavors, and the rest is done for you.
