How to Filter or Hide Words in Scrabble Cheat Results

Updated

Scrabble Cheat (scrabblecheat.us) gives you two ways to narrow down its word list: the Advanced Word Finder filters results by starting letters, ending letters, or contained letters, and the reject/hide feature removes individual words you don't want to see. Use the filters when you know part of the word you're building toward; use reject/hide when the tool keeps suggesting a word you can't or won't play.

Filter results with the Advanced Word Finder

The basic search takes your letters and returns every combination, ranked by score. The Advanced Word Finder adds filters on top of that, which is what you want when a plain letter dump returns too many options.

  1. Enter your letters in the search bar.
  2. Open the Advanced Word Finder instead of the basic Generate.
  3. Apply one or more filters:
    • Starts with — a specific letter or letter sequence
    • Ends with — a specific letter or letter sequence
    • Contains — letters that must appear somewhere in the word
  4. Add your blank tiles and board position if you have them, so the results reflect what's actually playable.
  5. Run the search and review the output.

The site describes the Advanced Word Finder as the option for when you have more time — for example, playing the Scrabble Go app on a phone or iPad and wanting more choices than the quick search gives you. With your input, blank tiles, and board position, it shows the exact words you can play.

Expected result: a shorter list than the unfiltered search, limited to words that match your constraints. If the list comes back empty, your filters are too tight — drop the "contains" constraint first, since it's the most restrictive.

Hide words you don't want to see

If a word keeps appearing but you can't play it (blocked on the board, already used, or simply not a word you want), remove it from the list:

  1. Tap the word you want to delete.
  2. A red cross appears.
  3. Tap the red cross to confirm.

The word is crossed out and hidden from your Scrabble list. Once rejected, the site won't show that word again in your results — so you don't have to re-scan past it on every new search.

This is a per-word action, not a filter, so it's best for a handful of persistent annoyances rather than bulk cleanup.

Which method to use

Situation Use
You know the word starts, ends, or contains certain letters Advanced Word Finder filters
You have blank tiles or a specific board position Advanced Word Finder with blanks and position entered
One or two words keep cluttering the list Tap word → red cross
The list is long but you have no constraints yet Basic search first, then filter

Things that trip people up

  • Blank tiles. Enter them as * or ?. In the results, a blank tile is highlighted in red so you can see where it's used and which letter it stands for.
  • Only 10 words per length. If more than 10 words exist for a given word length, the tool shows the first 10. Press Show More Words to reveal the rest for that length.
  • New tiles mid-game. After you play a word, add your new tiles to the search bar — the tool remembers the letters you already entered, so you don't start over.
  • Rejected words stay rejected. Hiding a word is not a temporary toggle; it's removed from your results going forward.
