How to Start a Norton Free Trial or Download Your Purchased Product

Updated

Go to hk-en.norton.com and use the Try Free link in the top navigation to start a trial, or use Sign In to access your account and download a product you already bought. Activation after download requires a product key or an active subscription tied to your Norton account. The exact trial length and which plans offer a trial are shown on the site itself, so confirm the terms on the page before you commit.

Starting a free trial

  1. Open hk-en.norton.com.
  2. Select Try Free (shown in the top navigation, alongside How to renew).
  3. Choose the product you want to trial and follow the on-screen steps to create or sign in to a Norton account.
  4. Download and install the app on your device, then sign in with the same account to activate the trial.

What to expect: the trial is tied to your Norton account, not to a downloaded file alone. If you have used a trial for the same product before, the site may not offer another one — the page states the applicable terms at the point of sign-up.

Downloading a product you already purchased

  1. Select Sign In at the top of the page.
  2. Sign in with the email and password for your Norton account.
  3. In your account, open the download section for your product and install it on the device you want to protect.
  4. Sign in to the installed app, or enter your product key when prompted, to activate the subscription.

If you bought a plan but have not yet created an account, use Enter your Product Key on the site to register the key and link it to an account — after that, the product appears under your downloads.

Checking price and renewal before you buy

The site lists plan pricing and renewal pricing separately, and the two are not the same. For example, a current offer shows Norton 360 Deluxe at HK$398.00 for the first year, with the note that terms and conditions apply, and a Norton AntiVirus Plus offer at HK$118 for the first year against a stated renewal price of HK$288/year (described as HK$170 off, working out to about HK$10/month for the first year). The site also links to a Renewal prices page under pricing — check it so you know what you will pay after any introductory period ends.

Common sticking points

  • Trial availability varies by product. Not every plan necessarily offers a trial; the Try Free flow shows what is currently available.
  • Sign-in is required to download. Downloading a purchased product is done through your account, so keep your sign-in details accessible.
  • A product key alone is not enough. You still need to link it to a Norton account to manage downloads, billing, and renewal.
  • First-year price ≠ renewal price. Budget for the renewal price shown on the pricing page, not just the introductory offer.
