Where to Find RCSLT Events, Webinars and Latest News
Updated
RCSLT's website (rcslt.org) has two main places for this: an Events and webinars section for listings and booking, and a News section for announcements and updates. Both are reachable from the homepage, and the homepage itself previews the most recent items in each. The events shown below are the ones currently listed, with dates as published on the site.
Events and webinars
The Events and webinars section is the single place to browse upcoming sessions and book a place. The homepage shows a "View more" link that leads to the full listing, and each entry has a Book your place link.
Examples of what is currently listed:
| Event | Date and time | Type |
|---|---|---|
| A collaborative approach to accessible examinations – launch of the fourth edition of Language of Examinations | 28 September 2026, 4pm | Event |
| CPD Portfolio webinar 2026 | 5 November 2026, 12pm | Webinar (CPD) |
| Research Champions Workshop 2027 | 3 March 2027, 10am | Workshop |
To use the section:
- Open the Events and webinars area from the homepage (or via the "View more" link next to the homepage listing).
- Scan the listing for the session you want — each entry shows a title, a date and time, and a category label such as Event, Webinar or CPD.
- Select Book your place on the entry to register.
Expected result: you reach the booking step for that specific session. If a session has passed or booking has closed, the entry may no longer offer a booking link — in that case check the News section or the events listing again for a replacement date.
News
The News section carries the latest organisational and policy updates. Current homepage headlines include:
- A call on the Prime Minister to make speech and language therapy a Budget priority
- RCSLT welcomes a new Director of Membership and Communications
- RCSLT urges people to support an amendment to the Health Bill on speech and language therapy
- Announcing the new CPD Portfolio
Use News when you want announcements, campaign calls or changes affecting the profession, rather than a dated session to attend.
Other regularly updated content
Beyond events and news, the homepage links to:
- SLT Voices — blogs, articles and case studies, including first-person pieces such as "Exploring laughter and identity after laryngectomy" and "My experience of the RCSLT student leadership programme."
- Help build our next strategy (2027–30) — a call for input into RCSLT's next strategy.
- Membership benefits, Professional Networks, and a Coming soon area for the new CPD Portfolio.
Practical notes
- Dates and times are published on the site; check the individual event page before travelling or scheduling, since listings can change.
- The CPD Portfolio webinar is tied to a wider change: the CPD Diary stops accepting new entries after 23 September, and the CPD Portfolio launches in October 2026. If your reason for attending is CPD recording, the CPD Portfolio information page is the companion resource.
- The site does not state that events or news are restricted to members, and no pricing is shown for the listed sessions — confirm any access or fee conditions on the individual booking page rather than assuming.
