What Is Moody Ranch Outfitters?

Updated

Moody Ranch Outfitters is a 5,000+ acre hunting, fishing, and event ranch in the Navasota River bottom of southeast Texas. It offers guided hunts for Whitetail Deer, Duck, Dove, Hog, Gator, and Varmint, plus Bass Fishing, and also hosts meetings, corporate retreats, and family events. It has operated for over 25 years and is centrally located about an hour from Houston, two hours from Austin, and three hours from Dallas.

What the Ranch Offers

Moody Ranch Outfitters describes itself as a "Hunting & Fishing Lodge, Events & Bee Services" operation. Its main activities fall into four categories:

  • Hunting — Whitetail Deer, Duck, Dove, Hog, Gator, and Varmint
  • Fishing — Bass Fishing excursions on the ranch's river-bottom property
  • Events — meetings, corporate retreats, and family gatherings using the on-site facilities
  • Bee services — Moody Honey Texas Bee Removal and Texas Honey

The ranch sits on 5,000+ acres in the Navasota River bottom, which is the setting for both the hunting and fishing programs.

Location and Access

The ranch is in southeast Texas and is positioned for regional access:

From Approximate drive time
Houston 1 hour
Austin 2 hours
Dallas 3 hours

That central placement makes it practical for day trips from Houston and for multi-day stays from the other metros.

Booking and Contact

The site is currently booking fall fishing and Dove, Deer, Duck, and Hog hunts. Because office hours are limited, the ranch asks that anyone needing booking assistance text the office at 936-825-2119 rather than rely on a phone call. The same number handles calls and texts.

Two things to note before you reach out:

  • Texting the ranch means you agree to receive text message updates until you opt out; standard data rates may apply.
  • Questions about hunt guidelines, booking policies, donations, or age requirements are directed to the ranch's policy page rather than answered on the homepage.

Who It's For

Moody Ranch Outfitters fits people looking for a guided Texas hunt or bass fishing trip within a few hours of a major Texas city, and groups that need a rural venue for a corporate retreat, meeting, or family event. If you need bee removal or Texas honey, that service is offered under the same operation. Because pricing, package details, and age rules are not published on the page reviewed here, confirm those directly with the office when you text or call.
