How to Find PSC Orders and Case Records on the KY PSC Website

Updated

The Kentucky Public Service Commission (KY PSC) website at psc.ky.gov gives you two main ways to find decisions and case files: the Recent Orders and More Orders sections for the latest rulings, and the case links under Current Rate Cases for active proceedings. If something isn't posted online, the site points you to a Request PSC Records option, and documents can be submitted through the Electronic Filing system.

Finding recent orders

The homepage lists the newest decisions under Recent Orders, with a More Orders link for older items. Each entry shows the case number and a short description, for example:

  • Case: 2026-00193 SOUTH HOPKINS WATER DISTRICT - ALTERNATIVE RATE FILING ADJUSTMENT
  • Case: 2026-00096 LYNN BARK ENERGY CENTER, LLC - MERCHANT PLANT
  • Case: 2026-00131 NATURAL ENERGY UTILITY CORPORATION - PURCHASED GAS ADJUSTMENT

Items marked "*New!" are the most recently added. Select a case title to open the order in a new window.

Finding case records

Active rate cases are grouped under Current Rate Cases on the homepage. Each link opens the case file in a new window, and the list mixes water districts, gas companies, and electric utilities. Examples from the site include:

Case number Party
2026-00265 Western Pulaski County Water District
2026-00099 Columbia Gas of Kentucky, Inc.
2026-00094 Kentucky-American Water Company
2025-00257 Kentucky Power Company
2025-00208 East Kentucky Power Cooperative, Inc.

If a record you need isn't available online, use the Request PSC Records link to ask for it directly.

Filing and commenting

  • Electronic Filing Register — the entry point for submitting documents electronically to the Commission.
  • Comment on a Case — lets you submit a public comment on an open proceeding.
  • File online (under the consumer complaint section) — for consumer complaints, with a phone option at 1-800-772-4636.

A current example: the Kentucky Power audit

The homepage also highlights a Kentucky Power Management Audit. The Commission is seeking proposals for consulting services to perform a management and operations audit of Kentucky Power Company. Proposals must be submitted as a PDF no later than 4:30 PM EDT on October 16, 2026, with an RFP cover letter and the full Request for Proposal available as linked documents. This is a useful illustration of how the site pairs a notice with the underlying documents you'd need to act on it.
