Where Is Cornerstone Sonoma Located and What Is the Setting Like?

Updated

Cornerstone Sonoma sits at the gateway of Sonoma and Napa County in California's Wine Country. The setting combines rolling hills, lush vineyards, and a picturesque landscape with an indoor-outdoor marketplace and gardens, making it suited to a romantic getaway or a relaxed afternoon of shopping, food, and wine.

Location and Setting

Cornerstone describes itself as located at the gateway of Sonoma and Napa County in California's Wine Country. That position makes it a convenient stop for visitors moving between the two counties rather than a destination tucked deep inside either one.

The surrounding landscape is part of the appeal: rolling hills, lush vineyards, and a picturesque backdrop. The site pairs that natural scenery with art-inspired gardens, so the grounds themselves are meant to be walked and explored, not just passed through.

What the Setting Includes

Cornerstone is a dynamic event venue and marketplace. Its own summary of the experience is "Shop. Sip. Eat. Explore." — the best of Wine Country in one place. In practice, the setting brings together:

  • Boutique wineries and tasting rooms for wine tasting
  • Artisanal foods and locally-sourced food
  • Local merchandise from area merchants
  • Art-inspired gardens for walking
  • Live music and holiday events, plus a seasonal events calendar
  • Outdoor tables for visitors

One Google review quoted on the site, from Lina, captures the combination: "Shops, restaurants, wine tasting, walking in a beautiful garden, outdoor tables for visitors – all these at one place is the Cornerstone Sonoma."

Who This Setting Suits

Because the grounds mix gardens, tasting rooms, food, and shopping in one walkable area, the setting fits a few different kinds of visits:

If you want The setting offers
A romantic getaway Rolling hills, vineyards, and picturesque backdrops
A relaxed afternoon Shopping, food, and wine without moving between locations
A Wine Country sampler Local wine, local merchandise, and locally-sourced food in one stop

The site frames the local community as "the heartbeat of Cornerstone" and positions the property as an inviting hub for experiencing the best of Sonoma — from top local merchants to lively, seasonally-inspired events.

Practical Notes

Cornerstone is a marketplace and event venue, so what's open or happening on a given day depends on the season and the events calendar. If a specific tasting room, merchant, or event matters to your trip, check the upcoming events calendar before you go rather than assuming everything is running at all times. For weddings and private events, the venue handles inquiries separately through its weddings page.
