EnglishAncient City Con 2020: What Happened and Where to Find Current Event Details
Updated
Ancient City Con's official site does not present a 2020 event page. The homepage currently promotes September 24–26, 2027 at World Golf Village Resort in St. Augustine, FL. If you searched "Ancient City Con 2020," you're likely looking at an old query or a past listing — the official source has moved on to the 2027 dates. To confirm anything about 2020 specifically, check the convention's social channels or contact page rather than relying on the current homepage.
What the Official Site Says Now
The site's visible details are limited to the upcoming event:
| Detail | Information |
|---|---|
| Dates | September 24–26, 2027 |
| Venue | World Golf Village Renaissance Resort |
| Address | 500 S Legacy Trail, St. Augustine, FL |
| Convention space | St. Johns Convention Center, attached to the Renaissance Resort |
| Event type | Anime, cosplay, and comic convention |
The page does not include a schedule, ticket prices, or a 2020 archive. Those details would need to come from the convention's Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter accounts, or from its contact page.
Why "2020" Still Shows Up in Searches
Conventions that run for years accumulate old search results, fan posts, and third-party event calendars. A "2020" query can surface:
- Outdated event listings that were never updated or removed
- Fan discussion from that period
- Search engine results mixing past and current pages
None of these are reliable for current planning. The official site is the only place where the 2027 dates and venue are confirmed.
What to Expect at the Current Event
The site emphasizes cosplay as a core part of the convention. It notes that Ancient City Con was voted Best Cosplayer Event in the FOLIO readers poll for the third year in a row, and describes a welcome for "all fandoms."
There's also a comic connection: the convention has partnered with Coliseum of Comics on an exclusive variant cover for D'ORC's first trade paperback, The Book of Certain Doom, illustrated by Ryan English. The cover depicts D'ORC above the Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine. The site says the limited-edition variant collects issues #1–#5 and arrives July 22, 2026 at most Coliseum of Comics locations.
How to Verify Details Before You Go
- Start with the official site (ancientcitycon.com) for confirmed dates and venue.
- Check social channels — Facebook.com/AncientCityCon, Instagram.com/AncientCityCon, and Twitter.com/AncientCityCon — for schedule updates, guest announcements, and any ticketing information.
- Use the contact page if you need a direct answer about past events or accessibility.
- Confirm the venue before booking travel: the Renaissance Resort at 500 S Legacy Trail is the attached host hotel, and the St. Johns Convention Center is inside it.
Practical Planning Notes
- Dates are far out. September 2027 leaves plenty of time, but it also means schedule and guest details may not be posted yet. Recheck closer to the event.
- Book lodging with the venue in mind. Staying at the Renaissance Resort puts you in the same building as the convention center.
- Don't assume 2020 pricing or policies apply. The site lists no prices, so treat any figure you find elsewhere as unverified until the official channels confirm it.
If your interest is specifically in what happened in 2020, the official site won't answer that — reach out through the contact page or the social accounts, where organizers are most likely to respond.
