EnglishDoes C64 Online Plan to Add Commodore 16, VIC-20, or PET Games?
Updated
Yes. C64online.com states that it plans to expand beyond the Commodore 64 to include Commodore 16 / Commodore Plus/4, Commodore VIC-20, and Commodore PET games and software libraries in the near future. That said, the site currently focuses on Commodore 64 software preservation, and the C64 library is what you can actually play there today.
What the site says about future platforms
The site's "More Commodore stuff is coming soon" section is explicit about the roadmap:
- Current focus: Commodore 64 software preservation
- Planned additions: Commodore 16 / Commodore Plus/4, Commodore VIC-20, and Commodore PET games and software libraries
- Timing: Described only as "in the near future" — no specific dates are given
The site also notes it is "working on something really cool now, so new stuff coming up soon," which reinforces that expansion is in progress rather than already live.
What you can play right now
Until those libraries arrive, the playable catalog is Commodore 64 only. The site advertises 7000+ Commodore 64 retro games, alongside SID music and applications, all playable through online emulation.
Examples of titles listed on the site include:
| Title | Status |
|---|---|
| Lemmings Reloaded | Play online |
| Boulder Dash | Play online |
| Turrican | Play online |
| Defender of the Crown | Play online |
| Rick Dangerous II | Play online |
| Epyx Games Collection | Play online |
The site also lists a separate set of "online playable C64 games" such as Schizo, Toggle, Cliff Diving, Hektic, and Panic 64.
What this means for you
- If you want C64 games now: The library is available and playable in a modern browser on desktop, mobile, and tablet — no download or install required.
- If you want C16, Plus/4, VIC-20, or PET games: They are announced as planned, but not yet available. Treat them as upcoming rather than current.
- If you want to follow progress: The site frames itself as an independent private initiative that isn't funded by any organization, and it invites visitors to help support the preservation work.
The short answer
C64online.com has publicly stated its intention to add Commodore 16 / Commodore Plus/4, VIC-20, and PET libraries, but as of the site's current content, only Commodore 64 games are playable. The expansion is a stated plan, not a live feature.
