Does Checkersland Offer an Android Version? How to Play Checkers on Mobile

Updated

Yes. Checkersland lists Android among its available programs, alongside a separate "Android Online" entry, so you can play checkers on a mobile device rather than being limited to a desktop. The site describes itself as providing "different kinds of free checkers programs and services," and the mobile options sit within that same set of offerings.

What the site offers for mobile

The main page navigation lists these program categories:

  • PC — the most powerful version, supporting more than 20 kinds of checkers
  • Android
  • Android Online
  • Russian
  • Endgames
  • Extension

The presence of two distinct Android entries matters. "Android" and "Android Online" appear to be separate options, which suggests a difference in how the game is played — one likely an installable app, the other played through a browser or online connection. The site does not spell out the distinction on the main page, so treat the two as different entry points rather than duplicates.

How to get started on mobile

  1. Go to checkersland.com.
  2. Look for the Android or Android Online link in the main navigation.
  3. Follow that link to reach the mobile version of your choice.

The site does not publish download store links, file sizes, or version numbers for the Android builds on the main page, so the exact delivery method (app store, direct download, or in-browser play) is not confirmed by the available page content. The most reliable path is to open the Android entry from the site itself and follow what it presents.

What you can expect from the desktop version, for comparison

If you want the fullest feature set, the PC version is described as the most powerful, running on:

  • Windows
  • Linux
  • macOS
  • Solaris

It supports more than 20 kinds of checkers and allows play against other people over the Internet. The Android options are listed separately, so the range of checkers variants available on mobile is not stated on the main page — don't assume it matches the PC count.

Practical notes

  • The site describes its programs and services as free, so there is no stated cost to try the Android options.
  • The most recent release noted on the page is Checkersland PC version 2025.10.18, which is a PC build — the page does not give a matching version or date for the Android programs.
  • For support questions, the site lists [email protected].

If your goal is simply to play checkers on a phone or tablet, start with the Android or Android Online link on the homepage and see which one fits how you want to play. If you need the widest choice of checkers variants, the PC version is the one the site explicitly calls its most powerful.
