Greenwich Arts Council Office and Gallery Hours
Updated
The Greenwich Arts Council (GAC) keeps two separate schedules: office hours run Monday through Friday only, while the Bendheim Gallery is open six days a week, including weekend afternoons. If you are planning a visit, check which schedule applies to what you want to do — the office is closed on weekends even though the gallery is open.
Office Hours
| Day | Hours |
|---|---|
| Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM |
| Thursday | 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM |
| Saturday – Sunday | Closed |
Use these hours for administrative matters — program and event questions, contact with staff, or anything that requires a person rather than a visit to the gallery.
Bendheim Gallery Hours
| Day | Hours |
|---|---|
| Tuesday – Friday | 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM |
| Saturday & Sunday | 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM |
| Monday | Closed |
The gallery presents eight major exhibits each year plus smaller shows, featuring both established and emerging artists, many of whom are Greenwich residents. Admission is free to the public and no appointment is necessary — you can walk in during any of the hours above.
Which Schedule Do You Need?
- Seeing an exhibition: follow the gallery hours. Note the gallery opens at 12:30 PM on weekends, not in the morning, and is closed on Mondays.
- Asking about classes, programs, or events: follow the office hours. Thursday is the only weekday with afternoon coverage past 2:00 PM.
- Weekend visit: the gallery is open Saturday and Sunday afternoons, but the office is not — plan administrative questions for a weekday.
A Practical Example
Suppose you want to view the current exhibition and also ask about the classes GAC supports — dance, theater, music, language arts, and yoga among them. A Thursday visit covers both: the office is open 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM and the gallery is open 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. On a Saturday, you could see the exhibition from 12:30 PM onward, but you would need to save your class questions for a weekday call or visit.
Before You Go
Hours describe the published schedule; special events or exhibition changes could affect a specific day. The GAC invites visitors to contact the office with questions about programs and events, so a quick check ahead is reasonable if your trip depends on a particular exhibit or staff availability.
