How a Daily Riddle Round Works on Ridella
Updated
Ridella gives you four tries to solve the riddle of the day, and each wrong guess unlocks more of the riddle text. You start with a partially complete riddle, so your first task is to guess from incomplete information. Once the entire riddle is revealed, you get one final chance to solve it — and that's the only attempt you'll have at that stage.
The round, step by step
1. Start from a partial riddle
When you open the day's puzzle, the riddle is not shown in full. Some of it is missing, and you have to work with what's visible. Treat the visible fragments as your only evidence for the first guess.
2. Make a guess
Enter your answer based on the partial text. The guess is checked against the day's solution.
3. A wrong guess reveals another clue
If your answer is incorrect, Ridella reveals another piece of the riddle. That new fragment is your reward for the miss — it narrows the possibilities and should change how you read the remaining gaps.
4. Repeat within the four-try limit
You have four tries in total. Each incorrect guess before the limit adds more of the riddle. Plan your guesses so that the clues you unlock are actually useful: a guess made too early, before enough text is visible, spends an attempt without giving you much to reason from.
5. The full riddle appears — then you get one chance
Once the entire riddle of the day is revealed, you have one chance to solve it. There is no further clue after that point. This is the moment to slow down: read the complete riddle end to end, check that your answer fits every line rather than just the part that was visible when you formed the idea.
What changes at each stage
| Stage | What you see | What you can do | What happens next |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opening | Partially complete riddle | Make a guess | Wrong guess reveals another clue |
| Mid-round (within four tries) | More of the riddle with each miss | Keep guessing | Clues accumulate until the riddle is complete |
| Full reveal | Entire riddle of the day | One chance to solve | No additional clues after this point |
Practical points for playing well
- Don't burn tries on throwaway answers. Every wrong guess is worth a clue, but it also costs one of your four attempts. A guess you know is wrong still has value only if the clue it unlocks helps you.
- Re-read the whole riddle after each reveal. New text can contradict the reading you built from the earlier fragment.
- Save your confidence for the full reveal. The single attempt after the complete riddle appears is the one that matters most; make sure your answer accounts for the entire text, not just the opening lines.
- Expect the site to need JavaScript. Ridella's page states that JavaScript must be enabled to run the app, so if the riddle doesn't load, check that first.
The core loop is simple: partial riddle, guess, clue, repeat up to four tries, then one shot at the fully revealed riddle. Knowing that structure in advance is what lets you spend your attempts deliberately instead of guessing blind.
