How Bookmarks Work on Midloop

Updated

Midloop bookmarks let you save movies, TV shows, games, books, and music into one personal list, then view, sort, share, or clear that list from a single page. You can bookmark any item type the site tracks, and the bookmark page supports filtering by media type plus sorting by date or rating. The feature is built for tracking release dates you care about without re-searching for each title.

What You Can Bookmark

Midloop organizes its release schedule into five media categories, and bookmarks work across all of them:

  • Movies
  • TV shows
  • Games
  • Books
  • Music

Each category has its own release schedule with filters for time range (Today, This Week, This Month, Upcoming), genre, and category-specific options — streaming service for movies and TV, platform and mode for games. When you find something worth tracking, bookmarking moves it out of the general schedule and into your own list.

The Bookmarks Page

The bookmarks page is where saved items live. Based on the site's interface, it offers these controls:

Control What it does
All / Movies / TV Shows / Games / Books / Music Filters the list to a single media type or shows everything
Date Sorts bookmarked items by release date
Rating Sorts bookmarked items by rating
Share Generates a way to share your bookmark list
Clear All Removes every bookmarked item at once

The combination of type filters and sort order means you can, for example, view only upcoming games sorted by date, or all bookmarks sorted by rating to spot the highest-rated titles you've saved.

How to Use Bookmarks

  1. Browse a release schedule — pick a category (movies, TV shows, games, books, or music) and use the time-range and filter controls to narrow the list.
  2. Bookmark an item — save the title you want to track. It's added to your bookmark collection.
  3. Open the bookmarks page — your saved items appear together, regardless of which category they came from.
  4. Filter and sort — use All or a specific media type, then sort by Date or Rating to arrange the list.
  5. Share or clear — use Share to pass the list along, or Clear All to start over.

Practical Notes

  • Bookmarks span categories. A single list can hold a movie, a game, and an album at the same time, which is the main advantage over browsing each schedule separately.
  • Sorting changes the view, not the list. Switching between Date and Rating reorders what you see; it doesn't add or remove saved items.
  • Clear All is not selective. There's no partial-clear control shown, so use it only when you want to wipe the entire list.
  • Sharing is list-level. The Share control applies to your bookmark collection rather than individual items.

When Bookmarks Are Useful

Bookmarks fit a specific job: keeping a shortlist of releases you're waiting on. If you mainly want to browse what's coming out this week, the category schedules already do that. If you want a persistent, sortable, shareable set of titles across movies, TV, games, books, and music, the bookmark page is the tool for it.

Midloop's data comes from TMDB (movies and TV), IGDB (games), JustWatch (streaming availability), Last.fm (music), and News API (entertainment news). The site notes it isn't endorsed or certified by TMDB, and it asks for optional coffee donations to cover server, domain, and hosting costs — bookmarks themselves are part of the free browsing experience described on the page.
