How do I ask a question or find answers in the Denodo Community forum?

Updated

The Denodo Community forum is reached through the Collaborate area of community.denodo.com, which groups the Q&A Forum, User Groups, and Denodo Sharing. From there you can browse All Questions, use Ask a Question to post your own, or Search by tag to narrow results. Posting a question and getting personalized recommendations require a signed-in account, so register or sign in first if you want to do more than read.

Finding answers that already exist

Before posting, check whether your question has already been answered. The forum offers three entry points:

  • All Questions — the full list of threads in the Q&A Forum.
  • Search by tag — filter questions by topic tag rather than scrolling the whole list.
  • Q&A Forum — the main landing page for community questions and answers.

The Community home page also surfaces What's New, Most Popular, and Most Used by You sections. The last of these is tied to your account activity, so it becomes more useful once you are signed in and have been active.

If your question is about the product rather than the community, the site's own navigation points to Community Documentation, User Manuals (latest and other versions), and a Knowledge Base. These sit alongside the forum and often answer "how does this work" questions faster than a forum thread.

Asking a question

  1. Sign in or register using the SIGN IN / REGISTER controls on the site.
  2. Go to the Collaborate area and open the Q&A Forum.
  3. Choose Ask a Question.
  4. Write your question, and add tags so it can be found through Search by tag.

A signed-in account is also what unlocks personalized recommendations on the home page — the site explicitly asks you to sign in for those.

Other ways to collaborate

The Collaborate area is not only the Q&A Forum. It also includes:

Channel What it is for
User Groups Community groups organized around shared interests
Q&A Forum Questions, answers, and tag-based search
Denodo Sharing (Open Source) Open-source sharing space
Academic Program / University Challenge Academic and university participation

Learning resources alongside the forum

If your question is really a "how do I learn this" question, the Fast Track area may be a better fit than a forum post. It includes:

  • Learn: Tutorials, How To Videos, Technical Webinars, Hands-on Labs
  • Training: Courses, Learning Paths, Course Catalog, My Progress
  • Certification: Certification Exams, My Exam Results, My Pending Exams

You can also Try Denodo through the Download Denodo Platform – Developer Tier, Agora Free Trial, Test Drives, and Download Denodo Platform Drivers. The site lists "free trial" and "subscribe" as pricing-related signals, but no prices or payment details are given on this page — check the linked pages for current terms.

Content organized by role

If you are not sure where to start, the Community organizes content by role: Data Architect, Data Developer, Administrator, End User, Data Analyst, and AI Developer. Use cases are grouped separately, including AI solutions, a unified semantic layer for self-service, data lakehouse optimization, and how Denodo complements vendors such as Snowflake, Databricks, and Power BI.

Common sticking points

  • Posting without an account. Reading is open, but asking a question and getting personalized recommendations require sign-in.
  • Skipping the search. Searching by tag before posting avoids duplicate threads and often gets you an answer immediately.
  • Posting a training question in the forum. Tutorials, webinars, labs, and certification have their own sections under Fast Track.
