How Do You Play a LearnClash Duel?

Updated

You play a LearnClash duel by picking a topic, choosing an opponent, then answering 6 questions in about 3 minutes on your turn — reading the explanation after each answer. Your opponent has 72 hours to take their turn, so you don't need to be online at the same time. You can start free in your browser with no signup and no download, or install the app for iOS and Android.

Step 1: Pick a topic

Start with general knowledge or choose from hundreds of topics, from history to space. If your topic isn't listed, you can create it.

Step 2: Choose your opponent

Three options, depending on whether you want to play now or later:

Opponent How it works Best when
Friend (link) Send a link; they can play the first round in their browser You want a specific person
Matched player Get paired with another player 1v1 You want a real opponent but don't have one in mind
AI rival Take on an AI rival immediately You want to play right now

There are six AI rivals ready when you want to play right away.

Step 3: Play your turn

Answer 6 questions in about 3 minutes. After every question, read why the answer is right — and if you're still curious, ask Clash, the AI tutor, a follow-up.

Your opponent then has 72 hours to play their turn. Duels are turn-based and asynchronous, so timing doesn't need to line up.

What happens after the duel

A full LearnClash duel is 18 questions across 6 rounds with 45 seconds per question. The learning doesn't stop at the last answer:

  • Every answer is explained — you see the reasoning, not just the result.
  • Missed questions come back — a missed question is due again after 7 days, and again after 90 days once you answer it correctly. This built-in spaced repetition is how you keep what you learn.

Cost and access

LearnClash is free to play, with no ads even without Premium. You can play today's quiz free in your browser with no signup and no download, or download the app for free on iOS and Android. A pricing page exists if you want to check Premium details.

Common snags

  • Your opponent hasn't played yet. That's expected — they have 72 hours. You can't force their turn.
  • You want to play immediately but have no opponent. Use an AI rival instead of waiting on a match.
  • You missed a question and want to review it now. The explanation appears right after each answer; the spaced-repetition return comes later (7 days, then 90 days after you get it right).
