How does PortifyLead save a LinkedIn contact to a CRM?

Updated

PortifyLead saves a LinkedIn contact to your CRM in three steps: open a profile, click Capture, then confirm the save. The save itself runs a duplicate check, so an existing record is updated rather than duplicated. You can also generate an optional AI Sales Brief from a LinkedIn conversation before saving, but it isn't required — a contact with no conversation can still be saved.

Step 1: Capture the contact

  1. Find the person on LinkedIn.
  2. Open PortifyLead.
  3. Click Capture.

You don't need an existing conversation with the person to save their contact details. The captured profile is shown as a preview — the page evidence states it is "never uploaded" at this stage.

Step 2: Add an AI Sales Brief (optional)

If you've had a conversation with the prospect, click AI Sales Brief to turn that conversation into a structured read on their needs. The brief is editable before you save, and it's the only point where you confirm the details.

A generated brief can include fields such as:

Field Example from the source
Intent Replace spreadsheet opportunity tracking
Pain point Losing track of follow-ups
Timing Next quarter
Next step Send the short overview
Competitors Not detected

If there's no conversation, skip this step and save the contact without AI insights.

Step 3: Save and keep things moving

Save directly to your CRM from LinkedIn. During the save, PortifyLead checks for an existing contact to help avoid duplicates — in the source example, the result was "Existing lead found — updated, not duplicated."

After saving, you can choose a follow-up action where supported, such as:

  • A task (for example, "Send the short overview · due Friday")
  • Owners set to the destination default
  • A Google Calendar invite that opens a prefilled draft

Each action is its own confirmation, so saving the contact and creating a follow-up are separate decisions.

Which CRMs can you save to?

PortifyLead saves to Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Capsule, and Google Sheets. The workflow is the same across destinations: capture, optionally brief, then save with a duplicate check.

Common points to watch

  • The AI brief is optional, not automatic. It only makes sense when a conversation exists; otherwise save the contact directly.
  • Duplicate handling happens at save time. You don't run a separate dedupe step — the check is built into the save.
  • Follow-ups are separate confirmations. Don't assume a task or calendar invite is created just because the contact was saved.

PortifyLead's site lists a free plan with no card required, and a pricing page is available for current plan details.
