How HPOU Members Update an Address, Join the Mailing List, or Log In

The Houston Police Officers' Union (HPOU) provides three separate online actions for members: Change Your Address, Join the Mailing List, and Member Login. All three are linked from the main navigation on hpou.org. If any of them fails or you are unsure which one you need, HPOU lists a main phone line (832.200.3400) and email ([email protected]) for assistance.

Change Your Address

Use this when you have moved, changed a phone number, or otherwise need HPOU's records updated.

  1. Go to hpou.org and find Change Your Address in the site navigation (it appears under the member information section).
  2. Complete the address-change form with your updated details.
  3. Submit the form.

Expected result: HPOU's records reflect your new information, so future union mail and notices reach you. If you don't see a confirmation or your mail still goes to the old address, follow up using the contact details below rather than resubmitting repeatedly.

Join the Mailing List

Use this if you want HPOU updates delivered by email but are not trying to change your official record.

  1. From hpou.org, open Join the Mailing List.
  2. Enter the email address you want updates sent to and submit.

Expected result: your email is added to HPOU's distribution list. This is separate from the address change — joining the list does not update your official member address, and changing your address does not automatically add you to the email list.

Member Login

Use this to reach member-only content on the site.

  1. Go to hpou.org and select Member Login.
  2. Enter your member credentials to sign in.

Expected result: you land in the members area. If you don't have credentials or your login is rejected, contact HPOU directly — the site does not publish a self-service password reset path in the available material.

When to Contact HPOU Instead

Reach out to HPOU rather than retrying the online forms when:

  • A form won't submit or you get no confirmation.
  • You need login credentials or your login fails.
  • You're a retiree looking for retiree-specific resources (HPOU maintains a separate Useful Links for Retirees section).
  • You need to confirm whether your address or mailing-list change actually took effect.
