How Many Pages and Languages Does Wikivoyage Have?
Updated
Wikivoyage's English edition contains more than 34,000 pages, making it the largest of its language versions. The project supports over 20 languages, with page counts ranging from 100+ pages in smaller editions to tens of thousands in the largest ones. The numbers below come from Wikivoyage's own language listing on its homepage.
Page counts by language
Wikivoyage groups its editions by size on the main page. The largest editions are:
| Language | Pages |
|---|---|
| English | 34,000+ |
| Deutsch (German) | 20,000+ |
| Italiano (Italian) | 13,000+ |
| Français (French) | 10,000+ |
| Русский (Russian) | 7,000+ |
| 中文 (Chinese) | 5,000+ |
| Nederlands (Dutch) | 4,000+ |
| Español (Spanish) | 3,000+ |
| עברית (Hebrew) | 2,000+ |
| 日本語 (Japanese) | 1,000+ |
The homepage also lists a group of editions with 1,000+ pages, including বাংলা, Ελληνικά, Esperanto, فارسی, Bahasa Indonesia, Polski, Português, Suomi, Svenska, Українська, and Tiếng Việt. A further group has 100+ pages, including Čeština, हिन्दी, پښتو, Română, ၽႃႇသႃႇတႆး, and Türkçe.
What the numbers mean
Page counts are a rough measure of how much destination coverage an edition offers, not a guarantee of quality or completeness for any specific place. A 34,000-page English edition will generally have deeper coverage of more destinations than a 1,000-page edition, but individual articles vary widely in length and freshness.
If you read a language other than English, check whether that edition has enough pages for the region you're traveling in. For major destinations, even mid-sized editions often have usable articles; for obscure ones, the English edition is more likely to have something.
How to find your language
The Wikivoyage homepage lists all available languages with their page counts, so you can see at a glance which editions are largest and pick the one you read most comfortably. You can also search within a specific language edition once you've selected it.
