How Prices and Purchase Options Are Shown on Irish Design Shop

Updated

Irish Design Shop displays prices in euro directly on product cards, and each item shows one of two purchase actions: Add to cart or Choose options. If a product has variants (size, colour, style), you'll see "Choose options" and must select before buying; simpler single-version items go straight to the cart. Prices appear as a "Sale price" figure, and featured product pages also carry a "Regular price" field, so you can compare before deciding.

What the price display looks like

Prices are listed in euro with two decimal places. Examples from the current featured selection:

Product Price shown Purchase action
Wee Pets 2027 Calendar €30.00 Add to cart
Kerry Woollen Mills Wool Socks €21.00 Choose options
Wee Pets Print €40.00 Add to cart
Blasta Toasties €17.00 Choose options
Piotr Zwolinski Ceramic Bird €29.00 Add to cart
Adam Frew Wide Porcelain Bowl €55.00 Add to cart
Saegul Candles The Session Candle €28.00 Add to cart
Saille Baskets Garden Trug €150.00 Add to cart

The pattern to note: the price is visible on the card itself, so you can scan cost and product type together without opening each item.

Why some items say "Add to cart" and others say "Choose options"

This difference tells you whether the product has variations.

  • Add to cart — the item is sold as a single fixed version. Clicking adds it directly to your basket.
  • Choose options — the item comes in more than one version (for example, size or colour). You must open the product and pick a variant before it can be added.

If you click "Choose options" expecting an instant add, nothing goes into your cart yet — that's the most common point of confusion. Select your variant first, then add.

Reading the price fields on a product page

On a featured product page, you may see two price fields:

  • Sale price — the current price you pay.
  • Regular price — the original price, shown for comparison.

The Wee Pets 2027 Calendar, for instance, lists a sale price of €30.00 with a regular price field alongside it. When both appear, the sale price is the one that applies at checkout.

What to check before you buy

  1. Confirm the price on the card — it's shown in euro, so no conversion guesswork at the browsing stage.
  2. Check the action button — "Choose options" means a decision is required; "Add to cart" means you're ready.
  3. Open variant products — review the available options and any price difference between them before adding.
  4. Compare sale and regular price — where both are shown, the sale price is what you'll pay.

Following these four steps means you'll know the exact cost and the exact item version before anything reaches your basket.
