How Pricing Works at Viking Tattoo Studio in Linköping

Updated

Viking Tattoo Studio does not publish a price list. Pricing is quoted individually for each tattoo, and the studio only gives that quote in person — the website states plainly that price questions and questions about a design are not answered by email. If you want to know what your tattoo will cost, you have to visit the studio at Abisko Centrum in Linköping and discuss it face to face.

Why there is no price list

The studio is run by Peter "nypa" Nyberg, who has worked alone in the studio since 2006 after opening it in 1993. Working solo means each customer gets his full attention, and the site frames pricing the same way: a tattoo is quoted for your specific piece rather than by a fixed rate card.

That is a common model in tattoo studios, because cost depends on things a website can't capture — size, placement, level of detail, colour versus black and grey, how many sessions it takes, and how much custom drawing is involved.

How to actually get a price

  1. Go to the studio in person. Address: Viking Tattoo Studio, Abisko Centrum, 582 31 Linköping.
  2. Bring your idea. The site says it is always best to discuss tattoos face to face ("mellan 4-ögon" — between four eyes), so come prepared to talk through motif, size and placement.
  3. Get your quote and, if you're ready, book on the spot. Booking can only be done in the studio — not online, not by phone.

What not to do

  • Don't email for a price. The site explicitly says it does not answer price questions or questions about a design by email.
  • Don't expect a phone quote. The studio notes that the phone can't be answered while tattooing is in progress.

Booking, deposits and the drop-in exception

Item Detail
How to book In the studio only
Typical wait Usually a few months
Deposit 500 SEK or 1,000 SEK at booking
Deposit refund Only if you cancel at least 1 week before your booked time
Age limit 18+ for all tattoos
Drop-in Fridays only
Drop-in limit Pre-made/"ready" designs only, max 1,500 SEK

The drop-in rule is the one place a price figure appears: Friday drop-in sessions are limited to finished, ready-made motifs costing no more than 1,500 SEK. Anything custom, larger, or above that amount goes through a normal booked appointment with an individual quote.

Opening hours for a pricing visit

  • Tuesday–Friday: 12:00–17:00
  • Monday, Saturday, Sunday: closed

Friday is also drop-in day, so it will be the busiest. If your goal is a quiet conversation about a custom piece and a quote, a Tuesday–Thursday afternoon is the more practical choice.

What this means for you

  • If you want a custom tattoo: plan a studio visit, expect a wait of a few months for an appointment, and budget for a deposit of 500 or 1,000 SEK when you book.
  • If you want something small and pre-designed: Friday drop-in may work, capped at 1,500 SEK.
  • If you only want a ballpark figure before travelling: the studio's stated position is that this isn't available remotely — the quote comes from the in-person discussion.
