How should a new VTES player use the Forum der deutschen VTES-Community?

Updated

Start with the Info für neue Spieler / Info for new players section, then use Suche Spieler oder offiziellen Ansprechpartner to find people near you, post an introduction in Neue Forenmitglieder, and ask rules questions in Regelfragen. This guide is for anyone new to VTES (Vampire: The Eternal Struggle) who wants to use forum.vekn.de to find players, learn the game, and get answers without getting lost in a large German-language board.

What the forum is

forum.vekn.de is the Forum der deutschen VTES-Community, a German VTES discussion board. The board index shows it is organized into a few main areas:

  • Info für neue Spieler / Info for new players — onboarding material
  • Allgemeines — general VTES talk, resources, and trading
  • Beratung — rules questions and strategy
  • Allgemeines VTES Foren Archiv — an archived older section

You do not need to read everything. The sections below are the ones that matter most when you are starting out.

Where to begin: the new-player section

The Info für neue Spieler / Info for new players area is the intended entry point. It contains three subforums:

Subforum What it is for
Herzlich Willkommen First information for new or interested players
Suche Spieler oder offiziellen Ansprechpartner Finding play partners or an official contact
Neue Forenmitglieder Introducing yourself as a new member

A practical order:

  1. Read Herzlich Willkommen for basic orientation.
  2. Check Suche Spieler oder offiziellen Ansprechpartner for players or contacts in your area.
  3. Post a short introduction in Neue Forenmitglieder.

The board index shows the "Suche Spieler" subforum is comparatively active (10 topics, 60 posts, most recent reply 12 Jun 2026), so it is worth checking before you assume nobody is nearby.

Finding players and contacts

Use Suche Spieler oder offiziellen Ansprechpartner when you want to actually play rather than just read. The description says it is for people looking for fellow players or contacts.

When posting there, include:

  • Your city or region
  • Whether you already play or are completely new
  • What format or setting you are interested in
  • How you prefer to be contacted

The most recent reply in that subforum was in June 2026, so the section is not dead — but response times can vary. If you get no reply quickly, also check the Ressourcen subforum, which lists VTES websites, deck-building tools, proxy tools, and rulebooks, and may point you to other communities.

Introducing yourself

Neue Forenmitglieder is explicitly for introductions ("Stell dich gerne vor!"). A short post is enough: who you are, where you are from, and what you are looking for. This makes it easier for existing players to reach out to you directly.

Asking rules and strategy questions

Two sections cover gameplay questions:

  • Regelfragen — for questions about rules or specific cards
  • Strategie und Taktik — for how to play and win, and for exchanging experience with other players

Regelfragen is the busiest advice section on the board (723 topics, 5,037 posts, most recent reply 18 Sep 2026), so it is the right place for card-interaction questions. When you post, state the exact cards involved and what you expected to happen — that is what makes an answer possible.

For general VTES topics that do not fit elsewhere, including news about upcoming products, use V:TES Allgemein.

Trading and buying cards

If you need cards, the Succubus Club section covers trading, buying, and selling VTES cards, including links to web shops. It is moderated by a user named hardyrange. The board index does not state prices or payment methods, so check individual threads for the actual terms.

A quick checklist for your first visit

  • [ ] Read Herzlich Willkommen
  • [ ] Search Suche Spieler oder offiziellen Ansprechpartner for your area
  • [ ] Post an introduction in Neue Forenmitglieder
  • [ ] Bookmark Regelfragen for rules help
  • [ ] Check Ressourcen for tools and rulebooks
  • [ ] Visit Succubus Club if you need cards

Practical notes

The forum interface is in German, with some English labels (for example, "Info for new players"). Registration and login are available from the board index, but the page evidence does not describe any access restrictions, so do not assume you can read or post everything without an account.

The board also shows an Allgemeines VTES Foren Archiv with older content (last reply 28 Apr 2022). Treat it as reference material rather than an active discussion area.
