How Streaks, Streak Freezes, and Missed Days Work in Amountle

Updated

Amountle tracks a daily streak that counts consecutive days you complete the Daily puzzle. If you miss a day, the streak breaks — unless you have a streak freeze, which automatically covers one missed Daily. You can also repair a broken streak by going back and playing yesterday's puzzle. Your streak, scores, and name are tied to your account when you sign in, so they persist across devices.

How the streak is displayed and counted

The homepage shows your streak in a few places:

  • A day streak counter (for example, "0 day streak") with your average and best scores alongside it.
  • A week / 28 days / 28d progress indicator, showing recent activity over that window.
  • A "your streak" panel that opens when you tap it.

The streak increments each time you complete a Daily. It resets to zero when a day passes without a completed Daily and no freeze is available to cover it.

What a streak freeze does

A streak freeze is a single-use item that automatically covers one missed Daily. Key points from the site:

  • It is applied automatically — you don't have to activate it manually for a specific day.
  • Each freeze covers exactly one missed Daily.
  • You can hold two streak freezes at a time.
  • A single freeze costs $0.99 to add.

So if you miss a day and have a freeze in reserve, the streak continues instead of resetting. If you have no freeze, the streak breaks.

Repairing a missed day

If you missed yesterday, the site surfaces a repair path rather than forcing a full reset:

  • A "missed yesterday? play it ›" link lets you go back and play yesterday's Daily.
  • A "repair it: play yesterday" prompt appears in the streak area.

Playing the missed Daily is how you restore continuity. Note that the freeze is the automatic mechanism, while replaying yesterday is the manual one — the site presents both as ways to deal with a gap.

Signing in: how scores, streaks, and names are saved

Your streak and scores behave differently depending on whether you're signed in:

State What's saved Name behavior
Not signed in (local player) Scores and streak stored on this device Local player name, editable
Signed in (free account, no password) Scores, streak, and history follow your account Name saved for future scores; past scores keep their old name

Details from the site:

  • A free account with no password is available, and one account works across every "dle" game (the "dle club").
  • The "change name" option lets you set a name up to 20 characters. Past scores keep the name they were recorded under; the new name applies to future scores.
  • Perks and saved data follow your signed-in account, so signing in is what makes your streak portable rather than device-bound.

Common questions

Does paying affect my streak or scores? No. The site states purchases never affect scores or ranks. Amountle+ ($9.99, one-time) and the Founding Player tier add perks like archive access and a name mark, but they don't change how streaks or scores are calculated.

What happens if I miss a day with no freeze? The streak resets. You can still play yesterday's puzzle to repair continuity, but the automatic freeze is what prevents the break in the first place.

How many freezes can I hold? Two.

Where do I see my streak history? The "your streak" panel and the stats/achievements sections show your streak, average, best, and daily rank.
