How to Access Joana's Guides for Classic WoW

Joana's Guides are accessed in one of two ways: through the free addon, or directly on the joanasworld.com website. The free addon comes pre-loaded with starter guides for levels 1–12 and 70–72, while the full premium guides (leveling 1–80) require a subscription or one-time purchase and can then be loaded through the same addon or read on the site.

Accessing the Free Content

The free addon is the main entry point. According to the site, it is a "sleek, free addon" backed by an experienced addon author, and it ships with starter guides already included:

• Classic Era 1–12 (Azeroth)
• Classic Era 12–15 (Tirisfal)
• WOTLK 70–72 (Northrend)

These starter guides can also be viewed on the website without the addon. If you only want to test the format or cover the earliest levels, downloading the addon or opening the web guides is enough — no payment is involved for this tier.

Accessing the Premium Guides

Premium guides cover leveling 1–80 and are unlocked through one of two plans:

Both plans unlock the same guide content. The difference is purely how you pay: recurring monthly versus a single payment.

Once you have access, the premium guides can be viewed on the website or loaded by the free addon for in-game convenience. The addon is the same free download in both cases — the subscription or purchase is what unlocks the premium content inside it.

What the Premium Guides Cover

The premium leveling guides span all three Classic-era progressions:

• Classic Era 1–60 (Azeroth) — supports Classic Era modes including Season of Discovery, Hardcore, and Anniversary
• TBC 60–70 (Outland) — includes 12–20 Ghostlands & Bloodmyst Isle
• WOTLK 70–80 (Northrend)

Season of Discovery support is delivered as an update with Rune quests integrated into the guide. Hardcore support covers both Classic Era and Anniversary, with strategies built around the permadeath playstyle.

Choosing Between the Two Access Methods

• Use the addon if you want guidance overlaid in-game while you play, and you want premium content without alt-tabbing to a browser.
• Use the website if you prefer reading on a second screen, want to browse before committing, or are checking the free starter guides first.
• Use both if you subscribe — the site notes the guides can be viewed on the web or loaded by the addon, so access isn't limited to one.

Common Questions

Do I need to pay to use the addon? No — the addon itself is free and includes the starter guides. Payment only unlocks the premium 1–80 guides.

Is the monthly plan required for the one-time option? No. The $149.95 (discounted to $129.95) Everything Plan is a one-time payment, separate from the auto-renewing monthly plan.

Can I see the guides without installing anything? Yes. The free starter guides and, with a subscription, the premium guides can be viewed on the website.

Does premium access work across all versions? The premium guides cover Classic Era (including SoD, Hardcore, and Anniversary), TBC, and WOTLK content as listed above.
