How to Apply to Rowan University: First-Year, Transfer, Graduate, Medical, and International Paths
Updated
Rowan University routes applicants through separate admissions pages based on where you are in your education: first-year, transfer, graduate and degree completion, medical education, and international. Pick the path that matches your current status, then use that page's requirements and process link to start. The main entry points on Rowan's site are Apply, my Rowan, and the Apply Today section, which lists each applicant type with its own "Requirements & Process" or "Discover Your Path" link.
Choose your applicant path
| Your situation | Rowan entry point | What the page leads to |
|---|---|---|
| Applying from high school | First-Year Admissions | Freshman requirements and process |
| Transferring from another college | Transfer Admissions | Transfer requirements and process |
| Seeking a graduate degree or finishing a bachelor's | Graduate & Degree Completion | "Discover Your Path" |
| Applying to medical or health professions programs | Medical Education Admissions | MD, DO, DVM, and other medical education opportunities |
| Applying from outside the U.S. | International Admissions | International applicant options |
Each path has its own requirements, so the first decision is simply which one describes you. A current high school student uses First-Year Admissions even if they have college credits from dual enrollment; someone who has already enrolled at another college after high school generally uses Transfer Admissions.
First-year applicants
Start at the First-Year Admissions page and follow the Requirements & Process link. That page is where Rowan states what it expects from freshman applicants and how the application moves forward. Before you begin, have your academic record and any test or essay materials the page asks for, since the requirements page defines what counts as a complete application.
Transfer applicants
Use Transfer Admissions and its Requirements & Process link. Transfer review depends on your prior college coursework, so expect the requirements page to address your existing credits rather than high school performance. If you are also considering finishing a degree after time away, compare this path with Graduate & Degree Completion, since Rowan lists them separately.
Graduate and degree-completion applicants
Graduate & Degree Completion uses a Discover Your Path link rather than a single requirements page, which signals that programs differ from one another. Treat this as a program-by-program search: identify your intended program first, then follow that program's own admissions instructions. Deadlines and materials can vary by program, so confirm them on the specific program page rather than assuming a university-wide date.
Medical education applicants
Rowan's medical education admissions cover distinct professional programs, including:
- Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (MD)
- Virtua Health College of Medicine & Life Sciences (DO)
- Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
The site's Medical Education & Research Degrees link leads to "View All Medical Education Opportunities." Because these are separate schools and degrees, each has its own admissions process. Apply through the specific program you're targeting, not through a general Rowan application.
International applicants
International Admissions is its own entry point with an Explore Your Options link. Use it if you are applying from outside the United States or need international-specific guidance. Requirements here can differ from domestic first-year or transfer admissions, so follow this page rather than the domestic path.
How to start your application
- Identify your applicant type using the table above.
- Open that admissions page from Rowan's Apply Today section.
- Follow the linked requirements or process page for your type.
- Use Apply to begin the application, or my Rowan to manage it if you already have an account.
- Check the specific page for deadlines and required materials before submitting.
Before you apply
- Confirm your category. Choosing the wrong path is the most common source of confusion, especially for dual-enrollment students and those returning to finish a degree.
- Check deadlines on your specific page. Rowan separates applicant types, and program-level deadlines for graduate and medical education can differ from undergraduate ones.
- Use the visit options. Tours & Open Houses and Virtual & In-Person Events are listed alongside admissions if you want to confirm fit before applying.
- Contact the university if a path is unclear. Rowan lists its address (201 Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro, New Jersey 08028) and phone number (856-256-4000) on its homepage.
The fastest route is to match yourself to one of the five paths, open its requirements page, and apply through Apply or my Rowan.
