How to Book a Tee Time at Avila Beach Golf Resort

Updated

You can reserve a round at Avila Beach Golf Resort either online through the "TEE TIMES" / "Book Now" entry on avilabeachresort.com or by calling (805) 595-4000. Both paths are listed on the site, so pick whichever suits you — online if you want to see and choose a slot yourself, phone if you'd rather confirm details with the pro shop directly.

Booking Options at a Glance

Method How to start Best for
Online Use the "TEE TIMES" section and "Book Now" button on the site Comparing available slots and booking on your own schedule
Phone Call (805) 595-4000 Questions about the course, group sizes, or specific requests

The site does not publish its rate card or a full list of bookable time windows, so treat any specific price or availability as something to confirm at the point of booking rather than something you can look up in advance.

Before You Book: Know the Course

The resort describes a par-72, 6,500-yard championship course designed by Olin Dutra and Desmond Muirhead and opened in 1969. Two features are worth knowing before you pick a time:

  • Front nine — hilly terrain with small, often elevated greens set in oak-lined valleys.
  • Back nine — crosses a tidal estuary, with several forced carries over water and multi-level greens.

Fairways are kikuyu grass and greens are bentgrass. If forced carries over water are a weak point in your game, the back nine is the part to plan around. The "Explore the Course" section on the site is the place to review this layout before choosing a slot.

Step-by-Step: Reserving Online

  1. Go to avilabeachresort.com.
  2. Find the TEE TIMES section (the homepage also shows a Book Now button).
  3. Enter your date and party details in the booking flow.
  4. Select an available time and complete the reservation.
  5. Note your confirmation details and arrival instructions.

Expected result: a confirmed reservation for your chosen date and time. If no slots appear for your date, try another day or call the number above — the site does not state how far in advance tee times open.

Step-by-Step: Reserving by Phone

  1. Call (805) 595-4000.
  2. Give your preferred date, time window, and number of players.
  3. Confirm the rate and any policies at that moment, since they aren't published on the site.
  4. Ask about arrival time and anything you need to bring.

Common Snags

  • No online slots showing. Availability isn't guaranteed for every date; fall back to the phone line.
  • Price unknown ahead of time. The site has a Pro Shop page but no published rates, so get the number confirmed when you book.
  • Planning around an event. The resort hosts concerts and festivals (upcoming listings include Holo Holo Avila Beach on October 3, 2026, and Modest Mouse on October 22, 2026). On event days, traffic and course access can be affected, so check the events calendar if your date overlaps.

While You're There

The resort includes Mulligan's Bar and Grill, described as a neighborhood bar serving sandwiches and small bites — a reasonable stop before or after your round. The same property is also a wedding and event venue, so if you're combining golf with a celebration, the site's private events section covers those options separately.
