How to Book an Open Event at Bolton College

Updated

Bolton College lists its open events on the college events calendar, where you can search or filter by keyword and date, then book online. The site currently shows an Open Event on 14 October, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Use this route if you want to visit in person, meet staff, and see facilities before applying; if you only need course information, the course search and enquiry routes may be enough.

Steps to find and book an open event

  1. Go to the Bolton College website and open the Events section (the homepage links to “Book on an Event” and “Access Events”).
  2. Use the event search and views navigation to narrow the list. You can search by keyword and switch views (Photo, List, Month, Day) to see what is scheduled.
  3. Check the event details — date, time, and location — for the event you want.
  4. Book online through the events calendar listing. The calendar provides subscription and export options (Google Calendar, iCalendar, Outlook 365, Outlook Live, .ics file), which you can use to add a confirmed event to your own calendar.
  5. After booking, keep the confirmation and any joining instructions the college sends you.

Expected result: you have a booked place at a scheduled open event and the date saved in your calendar.

What the events page gives you

  • Search: enter a keyword to find a specific event.
  • Views: Photo, List, Month, and Day views, plus a “Today / Now” selector for date-based browsing.
  • Calendar export: subscribe or export events to Google Calendar, iCalendar, Outlook 365, Outlook Live, or an .ics file.
  • Example listing: Open Event, 14 October, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

If you cannot find a suitable open event

  • Check back on the events page, as listings change and new dates are added.
  • Use the course search on the homepage to find the subject area you are interested in, then follow the enquiry or apply route.
  • For application questions, the college’s “How to Apply or Enrol” guidance covers the general process; open events are a separate booking step.

Common snags

  • No bookable slot showing: the calendar may only display events within the current view or date range — switch views or clear the keyword search.
  • Calendar export vs booking: exporting an .ics file saves the date to your calendar but does not by itself reserve a place; complete the booking step on the event listing.
  • Time zone: the listed times are UK local times, so convert them if you are checking from abroad.

For the most current dates and any booking requirements, rely on the live events page rather than a saved calendar entry.
